Reds Acquire Nick Solak From Rangers
2 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds acquired infielder/outfielder Nick Solak from the Texas Rangers on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. Solak suffered a fractured right foot in September and played in just 35 games for the Rangers in 2022. In those 35 contests, he hit just .207/.309/.329 with three home runs, four RBI, 14 runs scored, three stolen bases and 19 strikeouts in 95 plate appearances. The 27-year-old has a .252/.327/.372 slash line with 21 long balls, 93 RBI, 117 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 253 games in his four major-league seasons. Cincinnati is an intriguing place for him to land given the opportunity for playing time, but it'll likely have to come somewhere other than at the keystone with Jonathan India entrenched there.
