Rays Acquire Stuart Fairchild From Braves
Stuart Fairchild from the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, according to Ryan Bass of Bally Sports. To make room for Fairchild on the 40-man roster, the Rays transferred right-hander Manuel Rodriguez (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. Fairchild will head to the American League after the Braves designated him for assignment on Monday. The 29-year-old can remain on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats, as he'll most likely serve as outfield depth in his new home with the Rays. At best, he might get some run against left-handed pitchers. The former second-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2017 out of Wake Forest has hit .223 in his five years in the big leagues with 18 home runs, 68 RBI and 25 steals in 277 games played.
