Phillip Lindsay Won't Be Back In Denver
4 years agoDenver Broncos restricted free-agent running back Phillip Lindsay and the team have decided to mutually rescind his restricted free-agent tender and move on. The Broncos replaced Lindsay by signing former Minnesota Vikings running back Mike Boone earlier this week. Lindsay was named to the Pro Bowl after being an undrafted free agent in his rookie season in 2018. The 26-year-old rushed for at least 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019 but also had wrist surgery after both of those seasons. He fought through nagging injuries in 2020 and could never get things going as Melvin Gordon III's backup. He finished last year with 502 rushing yards, one touchdown and seven catches. Lindsay's 2021 fantasy value will be determined by his landing spot, but it's unlikely that he'll find work as anything more than a complementary back.
