Patrick Mahomes Expected To Restructure Deal
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expected to restructure his contract by converting his $21.7 million roster bonus into a signing bonus in the coming days, according to league sources. The move would save the Chiefs $17 million against the 2021 salary cap. Mahomes didn't have his best performance in the Super Bowl loss to the Buccaneers, but in his defense, Kansas City's beat up offensive line didn't give him much of a chance against a ferocious Tampa Bay pass rush. The 25-year-old former MVP underwent surgery to address a nagging turf-toe injury when the season ended, but he should be just fine for the start of the 2021 season and should still be considered the top fantasy signal-caller after passing for 4,740 yards, 38 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 15 regular season starts.
