Panthers Keeping Tabs On Derek Carr
2 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are expected to monitor Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr's situation this offseason to determine if he's worth pursuing as their quarterback in 2023 and beyond. Carr informed the Raiders on Sunday that he won't accept a trade to any NFL team, which means he's likely to be released before his contract for 2023 becomes fully guaranteed on Tuesday. The 31-year-old will become one of the top free agents and could sign with a new team before the new league year begins in March. He's had his ups and downs in his nine years with the Raiders, he'd be a pretty big upgrade over what the Panthers have had under center since the Cam Newton days. Sam Darnold is set for free agency, leaving only Matt Corral and PJ Walker as the only QBs on the team's current roster.
