Alex Brasky of SI.com writes that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman "has dominated training camp" this summer, and it continued with a couple of touchdown catches during Friday's joint practice with the Chicago Bears. The 22-year-old former second-rounder (33rd overall) in 2024 appears to be taking the next step heading into his sophomore campaign after disappointing with 29 catches, 556 yards and four touchdowns on 57 targets in 13 regular-season games (12 starts) a year ago. Coleman has taken advantage of top wideout Khalil Shakir missing time in camp with an ankle injury. With Joshua Palmer now in town to serve as a deep threat down the field, the hope is that Coleman's route tree expands and he becomes a more versatile pass-catcher. If that's the case and he continues to ascend, Coleman will end up being an excellent value pick in fantasy drafts in the later rounds.--Keith HernandezSource: SI.com - Alex Brasky

Atlanta Falcons placekicker Younghoe Koo was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra points in Friday's 23-20 loss to the Titans. The 31-year-old hit from 39 and 42 yards out, but is coming off a rough 2024 in which he converted just 74 percent of his field goal attempts before missing the final three games of 2024 with a hip injury. Lenny Krieg handled kicking duties in the team's first preseason matchup and is presumably in the mix to compete for the starting job. Krieg hit from 57 yards and missed from 53 in that first game while converting his lone extra point. Regardless of who wins the job, after Koo's struggles and the Falcons' murky offensive outlook, there are better options to choose from at kicker in 12-team fantasy leagues.--Jarod RuppSource: ESPN

Washington Commanders rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (shoulder) was wearing a non-contact jersey in Saturday's training camp practice, according to Ben Standig. Croskey-Merritt only took part in individual drills at practice as he works through a minor shoulder injury. The 24-year-old seventh-rounder suffered the shoulder injury in the preseason opener last week against the New England Patriots, when he carried the ball seven times for 24 yards while catching his only target for eight yards. He has been impressive during camp as he competes for a depth role in Washington's backfield behind Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. Croskey-Merritt's primary competition for a 53-man roster spot this summer are Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. From all accounts, Croskey-Merritt has done enough so far to make the team.--Keith HernandezSource: Ben Standig

The Toronto Blue Jays activated outfielder George Springer (concussion) from the seven-day concussion injured list on Saturday and optioned outfielder Joey Loperfido to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move, according to Mitch Bannon of The Athletic. Springer will jump right back into the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the visiting Texas Rangers and left-hander Patrick Corbin, as he's serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff at Rogers Centre. Fantasy managers will want to get Springer back in their lineups immdiately this weekend, as he's having a resurgent 2025 campaign and has hit .364 with a 1.112 OPS, one home run and five RBI in 11 career at-bats against Corbin. However, he has hit only .225 (20-for-89) with six of his 18 home runs on the year against left-handed pitchers.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Mitch Bannon

Third baseman Gio Urshela was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday, per the team. Infielder Brett Harris was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas as the corresponding move. Urshela struggled in 197 plate appearances for the Athletics in 2025, recording a .236/.287/.326 slash line with zero home runs, 20 RBI, and 10 runs scored. The 33-year-old posted his highest strikeout rate (20.3%) since 2021, and his lowest barrel rate (2.1%) since 2017. Urshela is known as a strong defender at third base, but has posted subpar defensive metrics in 2025 as well. He may catch on with a different club for the stretch run, but he should remain off the fantasy radar.--Will BradySource: A's Communications

After practice on Friday afternoon at Richmond Raceway, Kyle Busch was being pointed at as one of the drivers to beat for Saturday night's Cook Out 400. However, for that to be the case, he's going to have some work to do, as the No. 8 Chevrolet will roll off the starting grid from 28th place for this weekend's race. Busch is a six-time winner at Richmond, and his teammate Austin Dillon had the best car in this race one year ago, so that has to be encouraging for the Richard Childress Racing organization. Since joining RCR, however, Busch has had just one good finish at this track -- a third-place effort in 2023. As far as DraftKings and DFS goes, Busch ($8,500 on DraftKings) is sure to be a popular pick due to his practice speed and place-differential upside. Hopefully he won't get stuck a lap down early on, though, as there is always a possibility of that happening at such a short track.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Jayski

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) is expected to start Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the team. With the Browns battling injuries under center, the third-round pick from Oregon will take the reins in a meeting with the defending Super Bowl champions. Expected Week 1 starter Joe Flacco is resting, while Kenny Pickett (hamstring) is limited with a hamstring injury, and fifth-round rookie Shedeur Sanders (oblique) suffered an oblique strain earlier this week. Sanders turned heads in a preseason-opening 30-10 win over the Carolina Panthers last week. Gabriel didn't play in that game as a result of a hamstring injury, but he'll have his chance to stand out on Saturday. He and veteran Tyler Huntley are expected to be the only available Cleveland QBs.--Connor ByrneSource: Zac Jackson - The Athletic

Tyler Reddick will roll off the starting grid from the outside pole for Saturday night's Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, and it'll be interesting to see what kind of speed the No. 45 Toyota has in the race. Reddick's track record at "The Action Track" isn't awful, but it's not great by any means. Outside of his third-place finish in last year's race, Reddick has never finished better than 10th in a Cup Series racxe here, and he has just two top-10 finishes in nine career starts at Richmond. Obviously the solid qualifying effort is a positive for Reddick and his team this weekend, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him slip back after the race starts and settle into the back end of the top 10. The No. 45 Toyota was just 18th-fastest in practice on Friday. As far as DraftKings goes, Reddick ($8,700) should be used sparingly in tournament-style lineups.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Driver Averages

Veteran right-hander Paul Blackburn has been designated for assignment by the New York Mets, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. Blackburn's release from the 40-man roster will clear a spot for right-hander Nolan McLean, who is scheduled to make his MLB debut on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. The 31-year-old Blackburn threw 23 2/3 innings for New York this season, recording a 0-3 record with a 6.85 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 18 strikeouts. He has been an effective innings eater at certain points in his career, but has struggled with both injuries and ineffectiveness in 2025.--Will BradySource: MLB.com - Anthony DiComo

Washington Commanders second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels and the team's starters are slated to play "a few series" against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, head coach Dan Quinn said. The Commanders are taking a different approach after resting 30 players, including Daniels, in a 48-18 preseason-opening loss to the New England Patriots on Aug. 8. Washington will continue to go without No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin (ankle), however. Even though McLaurin came off the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday amid a contract dispute, he's still not ready to suit up as he recovers from an ankle injury.--Connor ByrneSource: Zach Selby -

Boston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Tanner Houck (elbow) is scheduled to undergo Tommy John Surgery on Monday. The 29-year-old suffered a right flexor pronator strain in the middle of May and has been on the Injured List ever since. He had been making gains in the summer, going so far as to complete a long rehab assignment. However, before being reinstated from the Injured List, Houck suffered a setback. It was here that the decision was made for Tommy John Surgery. This procedure will cost him the rest of this season and possibly all of the 2026 season, though he is hopeful to pitch at some point. With no guarantee that he will return next season, he is someone who can remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.--Dave Funnell - RotoBallerSource: Marc Cerullo

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Cole Ragans (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen on Friday and had "no pain, no restrictions in (his) delivery," per Anne Rogers of MLB.com. Ragans has been on the injured list since early June due to a rotator cuff strain. The 27-year-old left-hander will need at least a few rehab appearances to fully build back up, so he's still a ways off from returning to the big-league mound. However, it's a positive sign that Ragans was able to throw for the first time since suffering the injury without suffering any setbacks. Assuming Ragans is able to keep progressing in the coming weeks, he could be on track to rejoin the Royals in mid-to-late September.--Will BradySource: MLB.com - Anne Rogers

The Jacksonville Jaguars will play their starters on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, head coach Liam Coen announced. It's unclear how much playing time quarterback Trevor Lawrence & Co. will receive. Lawrence completed 6-of-7 passes for 43 yards in a preseason-opening loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Running backs Tank Bigsby and Bhayshul Tuten tied for the team lead in carries (six) and yards (24) during the opener. They've been in a battle for touches in training camp with Travis Etienne Jr., who's listed as a co-starter with Bigsby on the team's unofficial depth chart. Meanwhile, at wide receiver, two-way star rookie Travis Hunter (upper body) may sit out with an upper-body injury. Coen hasn't said whether the Heisman Trophy winner and second overall pick will play.--Connor ByrneSource: Jacksonville Jaguars

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Noah Fant will play in Monday's second preseason game against the Washington Commanders, head coach Zac Taylor told the media. It'll be Fant's preseason debut and first in-game action with the Bengals, who picked him up in free agency on July 31. The 27-year-old is a proven veteran who has amassed 288 catches and 15 touchdowns over six seasons between Denver and Seattle, but he figures to serve as Cincinnati's No. 2 tight end. Starter Mike Gesicki (hamstring) has been dealing with a hamstring injury and won't play Monday, though that injury is unlikely to keep him out of regular-season action. If it does, Fant's a good fallback option to have.--Connor ByrneSource: Paul Dehner Jr. - The Athletic

The Baltimore Orioles have selected the contract of top outfield prospect Dylan Beavers from Triple-A Norfolk, per MASN's Roch Kubatko. Veteran outfielder Greg Allen has been designated for assignment as the corresponding move. The 24-year-old Beavers has raked in 418 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, slashing .304/.420/.515 with 18 home runs, 51 RBI, 78 runs scored, and 23 stolen bases. He ranks as the number three prospect in the Orioles' system, according to MLB.com. Beavers should have an extended run of every day playing time in Baltimore for the remainder of 2025. With his five-category profile, Beavers should be a priority waiver wire add in redraft leagues.--Will BradySource: MASN - Roch Kubatko

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (hamstring) will miss Monday's game against the Washington Commanders, head coach Zac Taylor said. Gesicki, who has been battling a hamstring injury, also sat out last week's preseason opener versus the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bengals don't seem to regard it as a serious injury, however, so it seems likely that Gesicki will be ready for their Week 1 matchup with the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 7. The 29-year-old added another weapon to the Bengals' passing attack in 2024, his first season with the team, as he caught 65 of 83 targets for 665 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Bengals brought in some veteran insurance behind Gesicki in the form of Noah Fant, a recent free-agent pickup.--Connor ByrneSource: Kelsey Conway - Cincinnati Enquirer

Atlanta Falcons backup running back Nathan Carter led the team's backfield in Friday's 23-20 preseason loss to the Titans, rushing nine times for 63 yards, which included a 43-yard touchdown scamper straight up through the middle of the Tennessee defense in the third quarter. The rookie out of Michigan State got the most run of all the Falcon running backs, adding two catches for nine yards to his stat line, while Jashaun Corbin touched the ball six times and Elijah Dotson received three carries and one reception. Carter's run featured some good vision and breakaway speed, a couple of traits that should go a long way in helping to secure a roster spot as the regular season nears.--Jarod RuppSource: ESPN

Boston Red Sox right-hander reliever Justin Slaten (shoulder) is scheduled to take a big step forward on Monday, as he is set to face live batters for the first time since landing on the injured list in June. He has accelerated his recovery process in August, as he has thrown multiple bullpen sessions this month, leading to the decision for him to face live batters. If he can come out of this without any recurring symptoms, he could begin a rehab assignment shortly afterward. The right-handed reliever has been a dynamic option out of the bullpen for the Red Sox, as he recorded three saves and four holds before his injury.--Dave Funnell - RotoBallerSource: Jen McCaffrey

The Cincinnati Bengals' starters will see a good amount of action in Monday's second preseason game against the Washington Commanders, according to head coach Zac Taylor. The Bengals played their starters for several series in last week's 34-27 preseason-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Joe Burrow was sharp in completing 9-of-10 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while No. 1 wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase caught four balls for 77 yards and a score, and running back Chase Brown had five carries for 23 yards. The Bengals are trying to get into a rhythm before the regular season begins to avoid another slow start. They've opened 0-2 or worse three times in a row, and their failure to come out of the gates quickly has contributed to back-to-back seasons without a playoff berth.--Connor ByrneSource: Jay Morrison - SI.com

Cleveland Guardians left-hander John Means (elbow) was solid in his first rehab outing as he works his way back from June 2024 Tommy John surgery. Starting for High-A Lake County, Means threw 38 pitches over 2 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out three. Given that Means has not pitched in a major league game in over a year, he will surely be making several more rehab starts. He may be a rotation or bulk relief option for Cleveland in September, but Means is unlikely to factor in fantasy until 2026. Injuries have limited Means to just 10 starts since the start of the 2022 season, but he's been a very effective pitcher (career 1.05 WHIP) when healthy.--Will BradySource: milb.com

Seattle Seahawks running back George Holani recorded five carries for 49 yards in Seattle's preseason win over the Chiefs on Friday night. Holani is currently slotted as the team's No. 3 running back behind Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III. He did nothing to give up ground to running back Damien Martinez for the No. 3 spot despite Martinez having a solid game himself. Holani was an undrafted free agent in 2024, spending much of the season as a special teams player. He has played well throughout the preseason, having amassed 110 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries. The Seahawks may have found themselves a gem of a solid depth piece at running back in Holani. He will have one more chance to cement himself as the team's No. 3 back in preseason Week 3 against the Packers next Saturday.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet looked like he was in midseason form on Friday against the Chiefs. Charbonnet rushed for 45 yards and a touchdown on just five carries. Although the preseason is not always predictive of the regular season, Charbonnet's performance is encouraging for fantasy managers who believe he has a chance to split time with starting running back Kenneth Walker III. Charbonnet was a fantasy gem in 2024 when Walker missed time. Walker has had trouble staying healthy throughout his career, making Charbonnet one of the most valuable handcuffs in the league at worst. If Friday's game is any indication, the Seahawks' running scheme should be substantially improved in 2025 under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Improvements in the running scheme will benefit Charbonnet greatly this season.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold led a touchdown drive on Seattle's opening drive during Friday's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Darnold completed all four of his passes for 34 yards on a drive that ended in a touchdown run by running back Zach Charbonnet. The play calling provided Darnold with easy completions in an obvious effort to get him comfortable at game speed. Any quarterback can complete short passes. The question will be how much the Seahawks cut it loose downfield. However, Darnold was under center for much of the drive and was on the move for several of his throws. That type of play calling will cater to Darnold's strengths and take pressure off a questionable offensive line. If the Seahawks can play great defense and call plays similarly to Friday, Darnold will have a great chance to assuage the doubters this season.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught one pass for seven yards in Friday's preseason win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Seahawks' starting offense got its first run of the preseason on the team's opening drive. Smith-Njigba was lined up all over the field and caught his lone pass out of the backfield. It appears that offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's play-calling will be more creative than what the Seahawks had in 2024. With Smith-Njigba now entrenched as Seattle's No. 1 wide receiver, it was encouraging to see him moved around the field to create preferred matchups and manufacture touches. While JSN's time on the field on Friday was short, fantasy managers can come away from this game with more confidence to draft him.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Seahawks seventh-round rookie running back Damien Martinez received 11 carries in Friday's preseason win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Martinez turned those carries into 50 yards and a touchdown. He added two receptions for 14 yards. Martinez is fighting for Seattle's No. 3 running back spot with George Holani, who had a solid game in his own right. Martinez's performance was encouraging after a quiet debut last weekend in which he only recorded 10 yards on six carries. The Seahawks' running game as a whole was humming on Friday night. The success of the running game bodes well for the potential of this team to succeed in 2025.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Seattle Seahawks tight end Elijah Arroyo caught two passes for 19 yards in Friday's preseason win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-round rookie has now caught four passes for 33 yards in two preseason games this season. He has displayed the athleticism that made him a second-round selection in the first place. The learning curve at tight end is difficult in the NFL, but reports on Arroyo have been solid throughout the summer, and he has played well this preseason. With veteran tight end Noah Fant out of the way following his recent release, Arroyo has a chance to rise the ranks in this offense in a hurry. Additionally, the Seahawks will likely employ two-tight-end sets relatively often. As such, Arroyo should see a lot of run with second-year tight end AJ Barner. Arroyo is a deep sleeper for 2025 and a great bet in dynasty leagues.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Atlanta Falcons third-string quarterback Easton Stick garnered most of the playing time under center in Friday's 23-20 loss to the Titans. The 29-year-old completed 19 of 32 attempts (59.4 percent) for 173 yards and a touchdown as well as an interception, while adding two rushes for 14 yards. The touchdown was a nice-looking 52-yard catch-and-run down the sideline to wide receiver Chris Blair. It was a solid follow-up performance to last week when he went 15-for-18 for 149 yards and a touchdown, and the seventh-year pro appears to be the frontrunner for the third quarterback spot as he battles it out with 25-year-old rookie Emory Jones, who completed two of his five attempts for 16 yards in the game. Without a starting job, though, neither warrants any fantasy attention.--Jarod RuppSource: ESPN

Houston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (finger) made a rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Sugar Land, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out five batters in five innings of work. The 31-year-old threw 80 pitches in the contest, so he appears to be fully stretched out, and it's unclear whether or not he'll need another rehab start before rejoining the Astros. The veteran has been on the shelf due to a blister that could have been partially to blame for his ineffectiveness over his two starts before hitting the injured list. For the season, the right-hander owns a 6.90 ERA (5.86 FIP), 1.74 WHIP, and a 9.7 percent K-BB% and should only be rostered in deep leagues upon his return.--Jarod RuppSource: MiLB.com
