Patriots Open to Trading Kyle Dugger
Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz
The New England Patriots have been open to trading safety Kyle Dugger, who has seen a reduced role during training camp, sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Dugger is still viewed as a talented and impactful player, and there are several teams where he'd be a much better scheme fit in the secondary. His contract will complicate any potential deal, though, and a source said that the Patriots would "likely need to eat money just to make it a conversation." The 29-year-old former second-rounder (37th overall) in 2020 out of Lenoir-Rhyne has had at least 78 combined tackles in each of the last four years, but he graded out as one of the worst coverage safeties in the league in 2024 and has been demoted to the second-team defense in New England this year under new head coach Mike Vrabel. Dugger could return to fantasy relevance in IDP leagues if he's traded to a team where he'll be a starter again.Kyle Williams, Efton Chism III Not Expected to Play in Preseason Finale

Zach Charbonnet to Have Significant Role on Offense
Zach Charbonnet is "going to have a significant role in the Seahawks' backfield this season." Head coach Mike Macdonald said the team needs to preserve Kenneth Walker III, but they also need to "get him more work than he's gotten in order to be ready to play in a new offense." The Seahawks have not said that the RB1 role is up for grabs this year, but Walker continues to battle lower-body injuries, and Charbonnet continues to impress. Henderson thinks that suggests the backfield "could be more of a timeshare than a typical starter-backup arrangement." Walker has struggled to stay on the field, while Charbonnet hasn't missed a day. Due to durability issues, Walker has become a risky RB2 in fantasy, while is an intriguing RB3/flex upside pick in upcoming fantasy drafts.Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Tyreek Hill Still Not Practicing
Tyreek Hill (oblique) remains out of training camp practice on Wednesday and is unlikely to return to the field until the regular season, according to Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald. Hill has barely been on the field since suffering an oblique injury in early August. There has been no indication that the 31-year-old speedster is in danger of missing Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts, but fantasy managers have to be at least a little bit concerned about the Cheetah, especially with reports swirling that his chemistry with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa hasn't been great. The eight-time Pro Bowler still had 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 81 catches in 2024 in his third year with Miami, but it was his fewest receiving yards since 2019. He dealt with a wrist issue all year and has slipped to a low-end WR1/high-end WR2 in RotoBaller's 2025 rankings.Source: Miami Herald - Omar Kelly
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Bears Sign Tyson Bagent to Two-Year Extension
Tyson Bagent to a two-year, $10 million contract extension on Wednesday with a maximum value of $16 million with incentives, according to Bagent's representation. Bagent is now tied to Chicago through the 2027 season. The 25-year-old entered training camp competing with veteran Case Keenum (elbow) for the backup QB job behind starter Carson Williams, but with the extension and with Keenum also banged up, it's likely Bagent will open the 2025 regular season a th primary backup. Bagent went undrafted before making his NFL debut in 2023 for the Bears, playing in five games (four starts) and throwing for 859 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions on 143 pass attempts. He only saw action in four games in 2024 and completed both of his pass attempts for 11 yards.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The Chicago Bears are signing backup quarterback Jets Among Teams Monitoring Trade Market for Receivers
Terry McLaurin, who has been disappointed in the progress of contract-extension talks with the team this summer. The 29-year-old has been a hold-in at training camp as he seeks a new deal, but those around the league don't believe the Commanders will give in to his demands. The Jets would make a lot of sense, as they currently have Josh Reynolds as their WR2 behind Garrett Wilson. McLaurin has five straight seasons of 1,000 yards, but he's one of the more popular bust candidates in fantasy in 2025.Source: The Athletic - Dianna Russini
The New York Jets are among several NFL teams monitoring the trade market for potential wide receiver additions, sources told The Athletic's Dianna Russini. The San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings are also making calls around the league. The biggest splash at the receiver position before the start of the 2025 regular season would be a trade for disgruntled Washington Commanders wideout Texans Release J.J. Taylor
J.J. Taylor and wide receiver Xavier Johnson and signed wide receivers Cornell Powell and Juwann Winfree in corresponing moves, according to DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. Taylor didn't do enough to impress the Texans coaching staff during training camp and the preseason and will now look to catch on with another RB-needy team before the start of the 2025 regular season in early September. The 27-year-old had 10 touches for 29 yards in Houston's two preseason contests. Last year with the Texans, Taylor played in only five games and carried the ball 10 times for 44 yards and caught two passes for no gain. In his four NFL seasons (three with New England), he has only 62 carries for 200 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games played (no starts).Source: ESPN.com - DJ Bien-Aime
The Houston Texans announced on Tuesday that they released running back Bills Place Darrynton Evans on Injured Reserve
Darrynton Evans (hamstring) on Injured Reserve and also waived cornerback Te'Cory Couch and wide receiver Kaden Prather. In corresponding moves, they signed running back Jarveon Howard and wide receiver Grant DuBose. Evans will miss the entire 2025 season after he injured his hamstring during training camp practice last week. The 27-year-old was hoping to make the Bills' 53-man roster this summer as depth in the RB room after he played in only five games with the Chicago Bears last year, carrying the ball three times for three yards. The former third-round pick (93rd overall) by the Tennessee Titans in 2020 out of Appalachian State has only 65 career carries for 249 yards and one touchdown in 24 games (no starts) over his five NFL seasons.Source: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills announced on Tuesday that they placed running back Nate Sudfeld Signs with the 49ers
Nate Sudfeld to a one-year deal, with the terms of the deal undisclosed. Sudfeld was originally a 6th-round draft pick of the Washington Commanders in 2016 and has seen stops with the Eagles, 49ers, and Lions. Sudfeld was with the 49ers in 2021 when he beat out Brock Purdy for the No. 3 quarterback spot, but he has yet to start a game in his seven-year NFL career. His last appearance in a game was in 2022 with Detroit. With the 49ers moving running back Patrick Taylor Jr. to season-ending IR on Wednesday, they had a roster spot to fill, but Sudfeld sits fifth on the team's quarterback depth chart and is unlikely to make the team's 53-man roster.Source: Adam Schefter

Cameron Heyward Returns to Practice
Source: Brooke Pryor
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward was in uniform and participating in Tuesday's practice, despite an ongoing contract dispute. The 36-year-old All-Pro began training camp by holding in, but he has attended the team's last four practices in street clothes before donning the uniform on Tuesday. Heyward has been vocal about looking to restructure the extension that he signed last season, which carries an average annual value of $14.5 million. While there is no indication that any renegotiation is in the works, having him back on the field is a positive sign for his availability. In most IDP formats, Heyward offers a safe floor as a DL4 with a history of providing occasional weekly spikes with his 88.5 career sacks. With Heyward potentially back in the lineup and a soft opening schedule, the Steelers DST once again looks like one to target at the end of drafts.Patrick Taylor Jr. Placed on Season-Ending Injured Reserve

Brian Robinson Jr. Not Expected to Play for Commanders This Year
Brian Robinson Jr. growing louder by the day, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport believes the fourth-year back has played his last down with Washington. Robinson was not with the team for their Monday night preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and it was Chris Rodriguez Jr. and preseason darling Jacory Croskey-Merritt who handled Robinson's usual early-down work. Rapoport believes the team may be willing to eat a portion of Robinson's remaining salary to facilitate a deal. Should Robinson play elsewhere in 2025, Rodriguez and Croskey-Merritt will likely continue to split early down carries to start the year. Still, Croskey-Merritt's explosiveness makes him the obvious upside play and a good bet to seize the job outright. Forgotten in all of this, veteran Austin Ekeler should maintain his passing-down work, a role he quietly thrived in last year before a concussion cut his season short.Source: Ian Rapoport
