Indianapolis Colts running back DJ Giddens was quiet in a Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals as he did not receive a touch while playing just two snaps on offense. The Colts surprisingly turned to Ameer Abdullah in the game as he notched two touches behind workhorse Jonathan Taylor. Giddens will look to get back in the stat sheet in a Week 7 road matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Colts are one of the few teams that lean heavily on just one running back in Taylor, which doesn't leave much work for his backups. That being said, Giddens is still worth keeping an eye on as a handcuff option in case Taylor is forced to miss time at any point, although that could change if he plays behind Abdullah again in Week 7.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor turned in yet another dominant performance in a Week 6 win as he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals. Taylor will look to stay red-hot as he gets ready to head on the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. The Chargers have been decent against the run this season, allowing the 17th-most fantasy points per game to the position through six games. That being said, Taylor has been dominating the backfield work in Indy and already has eight all-purpose touchdowns to his name in 2025. He sets up as a top-five fantasy running back who should be locked into fantasy starting lineups for Week 7.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while adding a third touchdown on the ground in a Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Jones' bounce-back season has been one of the best stories in the NFL this year as he has now thrown for 1,502 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions while adding four rushing scores. He will now head on the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7 as he looks to stay hot. The Chargers have been tough on quarterbacks this season, allowing the 25th-most fantasy points per game to the position through six games. That being said, the Colts and Jones in particular have been too good this season to fade due to a difficult matchup. Jones sets up as a top-12 fantasy QB heading into Week 7's games.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts kicker Michael Badgley made a strong debut with his new team, hitting his lone field goal and adding four extra points in a Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran kicker will look to keep it going in a Week 7 road matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Los Angeles has been generous to kickers this season, allowing the 11th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. The Colts have one of the top offenses in the league and have afforded plenty of scoring opportunities for their kickers through six games. Badgley sets up as a top-15 fantasy option heading into Week 7.--Matt Terelle

The Indianapolis Colts defense has been a stout fantasy unit through the first six games of the regular season. They will be tested on the road in a Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers are dealing with plenty of injuries on offense, but they are still allowing just the 14th-most fantasy points per game to opposing D/STs in fantasy. The Colts are set as 1.5-point road underdogs in a game with a high 48.5-point over/under. This is a difficult spot for the Colts, which puts them outside of the top-12 fantasy defenses for this weekend.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Downs popped up on the team's Wednesday injury report with a concussion and has not practiced since entering the league's concussion protocol. Downs is coming off his best game of the year after catching six passes for 42 yards and a score against the Cardinals. While they play different roles in the offense, Downs' absence could create more target opportunities for Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce. Meanwhile, Adonai Mitchell could see a return to action after the team limited his snaps in Week 5 and made him a healthy inactive for Week 6 following his Week 4 fumble on what should have been a highlight touchdown grab.--Patrick McGrath

Indianapolis Colts wide receivers Josh Downs (concussion) and Ashton Dulin (chest) were not seen practicing on Friday, according to Jake Arthur of Locked On Colts. It marks the third straight missed practice this week for both pass-catchers, meaning it's unlikely that either will be active on Sunday for a Week 7 battle in Los Angeles against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium. They will both likely be ruled out officially later on Friday. It means that Adonai Mitchell, who was a healthy scratch in Week 6 after two crucial blunders in Week 5, should be active as the WR3 behind Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce. Downs will need to clear the league's concussion protocol next week to get back on the field if he's going to return in Week 8 against the division-rival Tennessee Titans. With Downs likely out this weekend, Pierce becomes a sneaky WR4/flex streamer in fantasy football.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (concussion) was held out of practice on both Wednesday and Thursday due to a concussion, so his status for the team's Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Chargers is very much up in the air. However, Downs had shown some encouraging signs in the last two games before getting injured. Across Weeks 5 and 6, Downs recorded 12 catches for 96 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets, leading Colts wide receivers in targets in both games. The 24-year-old has shown the ability to be a consistent target-earner in the past, averaging 7.6 targets per game across 14 games in 2024. Particularly given his current injury status, now may be a good time to buy low on Downs for fantasy managers who can afford to wait a week or two before plugging him into their lineup.--Will Brady

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (concussion) is missing a second straight practice this week on Thursday due to a concussion he suffered in the Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. In addition to Downs, fellow receiver Ashton Dulin (chest) is missing a second straight practice, which means that Indy's WR corps could be thin this weekend on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. If both Downs and Dulin are not cleared by Sunday, Adonai Mitchell, who was a healthy scratch last Sunday, will probably be active again. Alec Pierce would also be elevated to the No. 2 role behind Michael Pittman Jr. Downs and Dulin have one more day to return to practice, but right now, it's not looking good for their Week 7 statuses. Pierce would be in play as a WR4/flex option in starting fantasy lineups if Downs is inactive.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (concussion) is in the league's concussion protocol this week, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN. Fellow wideout Ashton Dulin (chest) also missed practice on Wednesday with a chest injury. Downs had a strong game in the Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, catching six of his seven targets for 42 yards and a touchdown, but he could be forced to miss a Week 7 contest on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers unless he's cleared from the concussion protocol later this week. If Downs is unavailable this weekend, Adonai Mitchell could be active once again as WR depth after being a healthy scratch last Sunday. Alec Pierce would be elevated to the WR2 role behind Michael Pittman Jr. and would be in play as a WR4/flex in fantasy lineups. In the last two games, Downs has come on strong, catching 12 total passes (15 targets) for 96 yards and a score.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that there is no timetable on quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr.'s (eye) return, according to FOX 59's Mike Chappell. After landing on Injured Reserve earlier this week, Richardson will miss at least four games after suffering a fractured orbital bone before Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals when a resistance band snapped and hit him in the face. He will be in and out of the team's facilities getting treatment and will remain engaged in meetings. With Richardson on IR, Riley Leonard has been elevated to the backup QB role behind starter Daniel Jones. The Colts brought in Brett Rypien to join their practice squad to give them depth behind Jones and Leonard. After losing out on the starting gig to Jones in training camp, Richardson's stock is as low as it's ever been after he was taken fourth overall in 2023.--Keith Hernandez

Veteran free-agent quarterback Brett Rypien signed with the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad on Tuesday, a source told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Anthony Richardson Sr. (eye) suffered a fractured orbital bone before Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals when a resistance band snapped and hit him in the face. With Richardson expected to be out multiple weeks, the Colts placed him on Injured Reserve on Monday, meaning he will be out at least four games. Rypien will give the Colts added QB insurance behind starter Daniel Jones and new No. 2 Riley Leonard. The 29-year-old was with the Minnesota Vikings in training camp before joining the Cincinnati Bengals. He played three offensive snaps with Cincy but was cut after the Bengals acquired veteran QB Joe Flacco in a trade. Rypien has completed 58.3% of his pass attempts for 950 passing yards, four touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 11 career games (four starts) since entering the league in 2020 with the Denver Broncos.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce caught two of his four targets for 48 yards in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. Pierce made his return to the field after missing the two previous games with a concussion. The veteran immediately returned to his role as the team's field stretcher, hauling in passes of 26 and 22 yards in the close win. Pierce has just 11 catches on the season but has turned that into 219 yards, good for a 19.9 yards per catch average. The veteran receiver will now get ready to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7. He sets up as a boom/bust flex option for that contest.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. turned in a slow performance in a 31-27 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6. Pittman caught just two of his three targets for 20 yards in the close win, breaking a five-game streak where he caught at least four passes or a touchdown. The veteran took a backseat to Tyler Warren and Josh Downs against Arizona, but he had been operating as the Colts' top wide receiver in the five previous games before Week 6's win over the Cardinals. Pittman will now look to bounce back in Week 7's road matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. He can be deployed as a WR3 in fantasy for that contest.--Matt Terelle

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs has seen a more consistent role in the Colts' passing attack over the last few weeks and even managed to find the end zone for the first time this year in the Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Downs hauled in six of his seven targets for 42 yards and a touchdown. It was nice to see Downs score for the first time in 2025, and it came with fellow wideout Alec Pierce making his return from a two-game absence due to a concussion. The 24-year-old has caught six passes in back-to-back weeks now, and he has been targeted 15 times in that span. He has seen at least five targets in each of the last three weeks. Pierce's return will surely make it harder for Downs to maintain that consistency, but it's clear he's a big part of a passing attack in Indy that also includes Michael Pittman Jr. and impressive rookie tight end Tyler Warren. Downs is only rostered in 50% of Yahoo leagues currently. That number should be higher.--Keith Hernandez
