Alec Pierce Out on Monday With Blister on his Foot
Alec Pierce (foot) missed Monday's training camp practice due to a blister on his foot. Pierce is considered day-to-day with the minor injury and could return to the field in the next couple of days. The 25-year-old heads into his fourth NFL season in 2025 ranked as RotoBaller's No. 68 fantasy wideout after he had 37 receptions on 69 targets for a career-high 824 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games (13 starts). Pierce led the league with 22.3 yards per catch as a downfield threat for quarterbacks Anthony Richardson Sr. and Joe Flacco. It remains to be seen if he can develop into something other than just a deep threat, but with the Colts having a QB competition between Richardson and Daniel Jones, most fantasy managers aren't trying to find out.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver DJ Giddens Impressing Against First-Team Defense in Colts Camp
DJ Giddens scored a long touchdown against the first-team defense during team drills in practice on Monday, according to Angela Moryan of WISH-TV News. The Colts drafted Giddens out of Kansas St. in the fifth round of this year's draft. He put up big numbers in 2024 for the Wildcats, rushing for 1,343 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 258 yards and a score as a receiver. Indianapolis has superstar Jonathan Taylor entrenched as their RB1, but there could be an opportunity for Giddens to win the primary backup job away from veterans Khalil Herbert and Tyler Goodson. If Giddens does make an impact this year as a rookie, it will likely be as a receiver out of the backfield. That's an area where Taylor does not see heavy usage, so Giddens' quickest path to playing time may be in a third-down role.Source: WISH-TV News - Angela Moryan
Indianapolis Colts rookie running back Tyler Warren Looking the Part Thus Far in Training Camp
Daniel Jones. Warren currently ranks as the TE11, according to NFBC, which corresponds with his TE12 ranking at RotoBaller.Source: Destin Adams
Indianapolis Colts rookie tight-end Warren has looked the part of a professional, and projections for his rookie season seem to keep increasing with every strong practice he stacks, Destin Adams, beat writer for the Colts, reports. While this is encouraging news to hear for Warren's outlook as a pro, it's still relatively early to say he has it figured out. That being said, during the 2024 season, the Penn State tight end had a standout year, recording 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, which earned him a first-round pick (14th overall) in the 2024 NFL draft. While he remains a strong play in dynasty formats, the uncertainty at the quarterback position limits his potential upside in redraft leagues. Adonai Mitchell Struggling in Camp
Adonai Mitchell has reportedly struggled early in training camp. According to James Boyd, Mitchell dropped two passes during Saturday's practice. That now makes four dropped passes in four practices. Fantasy managers shouldn't read too much into this as it's still early in camp. Head coach Shane Steichen didn't seem bothered by it, saying players are going to have good and bad plays at times. Mitchell is going to have an uphill battle for playing time with Josh Downs, Michael Pittman Jr., and Alec Pierce at the top of the depth chart. It's also worth noting that the Colts added tight end Tyler Warren in the first-round of this year's draft. Mitchell might only be worth stashing in dynasty leagues or deep formats to begin the season.Source: James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Daniel Jones Gets Second-Team Work on Saturday
Daniel Jones worked with the second team on Saturday, with Anthony Richardson Sr. getting first-team reps. Both players have split time with the first and second teams so far, so it's unknown what sparked the change. While Richardson appears to have the early edge on winning the starting job, there is still a way to go heading into Week 1. Jones threw for 24 touchdowns in his inaugural campaign in 2019. However, he didn't get close to that mark throughout the rest of his time with the Giants. The signal-caller has a fresh start in Indianapolis. Although his fantasy stock will rise if he claims the No. 1 spot on the depth chart, he has a way to go before earning the trust of fantasy managers. Jones would also presumably be on a short leash as a starter, with Richardson likely to enter the equation if he struggles.Source: James Boyd

Anthony Richardson Sr. Avoids PUP - Former First-Rounder Still in Play For Starting Job?
Anthony Richardson Sr. (shoulder) has avoided the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin training camp, although the Colts will monitor his throws as he competes with Daniel Jones for the starting gig this summer. General manager Chris Ballard said that Richardson will take part in the first practice of camp on Wednesday. "Where he is in his career and in his deal as a rookie, we still have time," owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon says. "He still has time to prove it." Indy isn't giving up hope that the former top-five pick can turn things around, but so far in his first two NFL seasons, he's been injured and inaccurate. The 23-year-old has elite rushing upside, but that won't matter at all in fantasy if he can't stay on the field and improve as a passer. It's a make-or-break year in 2025 for Richardson.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Colts Prefer Tanor Bortolini to Win Starting Center Job?
Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson alongside All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor, Indy will surely be looking to do damage on the ground in 2025. To do that, they'll need the new faces on the offensive line to step up and produce.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
The Indianapolis Colts "probably want" 2024 fourth-round pick Tanor Bortolini to win the starting center job over veteran Danny Pinter, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Bortolini and Pinter enter camp in a position battle due to the departure of longtime starter Ryan Kelly, who signed with the Minnesota Vikings in free agency. Bortolini made five starts for Indianapolis last season, earning an overall grade of 65.1 from Pro Football Focus. The Colts' re-made interior of their offensive line is a storyline for the team entering training camp, as Indianapolis will also be replacing 2024 starting right guard Will Fries. With a pair of mobile quarterbacks in Zaire Franklin May Miss Start of Training Camp
Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin's (ankle) "availability for the start of training camp remains unclear," according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Franklin underwent surgery on his left ankle in May, missing all of the team's spring practices as a result. The 28-year-old has played at least 16 games in each of his seven NFL seasons, so he's been highly durable up until this injury. Franklin was named second-team All-Pro in 2024 and is one of the league's most prolific tacklers. He led the NFL with 173 combined tackles last season, and also chipped in 3.5 sacks and two interceptions. It does not seem as though he's currently at risk of missing regular-season games, but his status will be one to monitor when the Colts open training camp.Anthony Richardson Sr. Believed to be Recovered From Shoulder Injury
Anthony Richardson Sr. (shoulder) is believed to have recovered from his recent right-shoulder setback as the team gets ready to kick off training camp next week, per a source. Richardson had season-ending surgery to fix an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in his rookie season in 2023 and was forced to miss the last two weeks of the team's offseason practices this year due to soreness in the same shoulder. The former first-rounder has been working with personal coaches for weeks in Florida throwing the football with velocity, and it appears rest has alleviated the issue. The Colts haven't personally evaluated Richardson, though, and it's possible Richardson will be on a pitch count early in camp to help him avoid fatigue or another setback. It's great news for the 23-year-old, but he still must beat out Daniel Jones for the starting gig.Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder
