The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Monday that they activated infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Liover Peguero to Triple-A Indianapolis after the team's game against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. Kiner-Falefa is immediately back in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener in New York against the Mets and left-hander David Peterson, playing shortstop and batting sixth. The 30-year-old landed on the IL on May 1 with a strained right hamstring and didn't need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning to Pittsburgh. He'll return to a .280/.333/.330 slash line with a below-average .663 OPS, no home runs, seven RBI, six stolen bases and 11 runs scored in his first 30 games in 2025. IKF is mainly valuable in fantasy for his positional versatility and mild speed in deeper leagues. He has never faced Peterson in his career.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz (back) remains out of the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Cruz will miss his second straight game after being pulled from Saturday's game early against the Atlanta Braves with lower-back tightness. Alexander Canario is making another start in center field for the Bucs and will hit seventh against Mets left-hander David Peterson. Cruz is considered day-to-day. Fantasy managers will want to check back to see if the 26-year-old is feeling good enough to play in Game 2 of the series in Queens. The 25-year-old Canario profiles as a low-upside DFS sleeper near the bottom of Pittsburgh's batting order against Peterson. He has never faced Peterson in his career and is sitting on just eight hits in 50 at-bats in 2025 with two home runs, three RBI and six runs scored.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Atlanta Braves pitching prospect JR Ritchie is being promoted to Double-A Columbus. The Braves' seventh-ranked prospect has pitched well at High-A so far this year, posting a 1.30 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and a 17.8 percent K-BB%, with his latest start being his best one yet -- a complete-game shutout in which he allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out nine in nine innings. MLB.com's top prospects list has a 2027 ETA for the righty, however, if he continues to perform, the Braves are no stranger to bringing up pitching prospects early, some even skipping over Triple-A altogether, a la Spencer Schwellenbach, so he's a name for fantasy managers to keep an eye on next season.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: Geoff Pontes

The Milwaukee Brewers returned right-hander Brandon Woodruff (ankle, shoulder) from his minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville, but he's still on the 15-day injured list with right-ankle tendinitis that popped up before his final rehab start, according to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy. The initial word is that it's a minor injury, though. It's unclear if it will impact the team's plan for Woodruff to come off the IL to make his 2025 season debut this weekend against the Minnesota Twins. The 32-year-old veteran only made it through 2 1/3 innings in his last rehab outing on Sunday with Nashville because of his ankle. Woodruff could still make his season debut against the Twins this weekend, but it's another reminder for fantasy managers to exercise caution with a pitcher that didn't make a single start in 2024 after having capsule surgery on his right shoulder in September of 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com - Adam McCalvy

Detroit Tigers infielder/outfielder Matt Vierling (shoulder) played six innings in right field on Sunday in a minor-league rehab game for Triple-A Toledo and went 0-for-3 at the plate. It was the first time that Vierling played defense in his fifth appearance on the farm. The 28-year-old has gone 3-for-13 with two home runs, a double, two RBI and three runs scored so far with the Mud Hens as he looks to make his 2025 debut with Detroit in the near future. If he is able to avoid a setback with his shoulder, it's possible Vierling could rejoin the major-league roster this weekend or early next week. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues looking for help in the outfield or at third base should take notice, as Vierling should play regularly between center field and the hot corner when he's back. In his two seasons with the Tigers, he's slashed .259/.320/.406 with 26 homers, 101 RBI and 12 steals in 278 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Milb.com

San Diego Padres infield prospect Leodalis De Vries jumped 11 spots in MLB.com's latest prospect list refresh, from No. 14 overall to No. 3 overall. The Padres' top prospect is currently at High-A Fort Wayne and is having a good season so far, slashing .288/.375/.519 with a 12.4 percent walk rate, a .413 wOBA, and a 147 wRC+ through 27 games (121 PA). The 6-foot-1 slugger even hit for the cycle in a two-homer game in April, and he's doing all of this at only 18 years old. The switch-hitting prospect has an MLB ETA of 2027; however, showing such advanced skill at such a young age could get him there sooner than expected. With some speed on the basepaths as well, it's clear why he's one of the game's top prospects, and dynasty managers will need to look at stashing him away at the earliest opportunity.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is absent from the team's starting lineup for the series opener on Monday in Philadelphia against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Jose Barrero draws into the lineup in center field and will bat ninth against Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. Scott will take a seat against a tough southpaw after he started each of the team's last nine games. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter has batted a strong .290/.357/.403 with two homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs and 11 steals in 142 plate appearances as St. Louis' starting center fielder this year, and he's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with a double, four RBI and a steal in nine games so far in May. Barrero will be a low-upside DFS sleeper out of the nine-hole for the Red Birds on Monday night. The 27-year-old Cuban is hitless in his two career at-bats against Sanchez.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Detroit Tigers rookie third baseman Jace Jung will retreat to the bench for a breather in Monday's series opener against the visiting Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park. Zach McKinstry is handling hot-corner duties and will hit sixth against Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck. Jung has really struggled at the plate in his first 40 at-bats over 16 games played in just his second MLB season in 2025, recording four hits, driving in three, scoring six runs, walking seven times and striking out 13 times in 47 plate appearances. McKinstry has been better at the dish but offers minimal fantasy upside for DFS lineups on Monday. The 30-year-old has hit .274 (34-for-124) with only one home run, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored and three stolen bases early in the year for Detroit. In seven career at-bats versus Houck, he's hitting .143 with a .286 OPS.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

The Cleveland Guardians optioned shortstop Brayan Rocchio to Triple-A Columbus on Monday and recalled outfielder Will Brennan from Columbus in a corresponding move. Rocchio will go down to the farm to work on his offensive skills after starting the 2025 season with a .165/.235/.198 slash line in 35 games this year. With the 24-year-old now out of the picture in Cleveland for the time being, Gabriel Arias will start at shortstop and hit seventh on Monday against Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta. Brennan also draws into the starting lineup immediately for the series opener at Progressive Field, playing right field and batting ninth. Arias had already been seeing more playing time at the 6 with Rocchio struggling. The 25-year-old Venezuelan is slashing .264/.319/.416 with four long balls, 16 RBI 21 runs and two steals in his 125 at-bats in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: GuardsInsider

Washington Nationals pitching prospect Jarlin Susana (elbow) has been placed on the seven-day minor-league injured list with a Grade 1 UCL sprain. The team believes he's avoided a major injury that would require Tommy John surgery, but he'll be shut down from throwing and be re-evaluated in two weeks. The Nats' second-ranked prospect has a 4.15 ERA for Double-A Harrisburg, but a 16.4 percent walk rate takes some of the shine off of the righty's 31.1 percent strikeout rate, leading to an ugly 1.69 WHIP. Still, if the 6-foot-6 hurler can rein in some of the walks, he possesses a triple-digit fastball and a devastating slider that makes him an intriguing future fantasy asset. Assuming he won't require surgery, the 21-year-old is expected to make his big-league debut in 2026. Dynasty managers will want to keep an eye on him as he could be an impactful starter, but if the command isn't improved, he could be converted to a closer.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: Mark Zuckerman - MASN Sports

Detroit Tigers shortstop prospect Kevin McGonigle (ankle) began a rehab assignment on May 10 at Single-A Lakeland, going 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, and a run scored in his first game back. The Tigers' second-ranked prospect (MLB No. 26) doubled twice and collected four RBI for High-A West Michigan on Opening Day, but suffered an ankle sprain that has caused him to miss over a month of the season. The left-handed hitter was fantastic last season at Single-A, slashing .326/.407/.470, with four home runs, 20 steals, and he walked more than he struck out in 60 games before earning a promotion to High-A. The former 37th-overall draft pick played 14 games at High-A before a hand injury ended his season prematurely. Hopefully the injuries aren't going to be a recurring issue, and look for the 20-year-old to rejoin High-A after his rehab is complete. He's still a couple of years away from the majors, but he is a talent that dynasty managers should keep tabs on.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
