The Philadelphia Eagles just traded for
Tank Bigsby on Monday, and the former Jaguar is currently listed as the third running back on the depth chart. He was far outpaced by
Travis Etienne Jr. in Jacksonville's first game, and was splitting touches with
Bhayshul Tuten as well. Bigsby only managed 12 yards on five carries against the Panthers in Week 1, which clearly didn't impress the Jaguars front office enough to keep him on the roster. Eagles backup RB
Will Shipley (rib) is officially out for the upcoming contest against Kansas City, clearing the runway a bit for Bigsby, but probably not enough for any real fantasy production. Shipley and
AJ Dillon combined for 13 snaps on offense against Dallas last week, while
Saquon Barkley totaled 50. With a star like Barkley ahead of him, Bigsby should not be considered for lineups in Week 2.

Saquon Barkley tied for the sixth-most rushing attempts in the league last week (18), once again proving that he has one of the most reliably-heavy workloads in the NFL. He also made PPR managers happy with his four receptions on five targets-both good for second-most on the team. In Week 2 Barkley faces a Chiefs defense that held
Omarion Hampton to just 48 yards on 15 attempts last Friday, but that was a rookie, and this is Saquon Barkley. After leading Philly in targets and receptions in their last meeting against Kansas City in the Super Bowl, expect Barkley to have a prominent role in the passing game again this week. He's a top-tier RB1 as per usual.

Jalen Hurts looks to speed past another defense this week as he faces the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Hurts led his team on the ground last week, racking up 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts. He also broke the Super Bowl record for most rushing yards by a QB against Kansas City back in February. Last week, the Chiefs let
Justin Herbert do basically whatever he wanted, as he threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns in a Chargers win. All signs point to Hurts being poised for a big game on Sunday, especially in what could turn into a high-scoring, revenge-fueled matchup. He remains a top option at his position in fantasy for Week 2.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense was surprisingly vulnerable last week, surrendering 32 points and 394 yards of offense to the New York Jets. Pittsburgh may not be as strong defensively as it was expected to be this season, but it still has plenty of potential as a fantasy D/ST against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Seattle only managed 13 points in its home opener and turned the ball over twice. The Steelers' defense performed far better at home than on the road in 2024, making this matchup at Acrisure Stadium all the more appealing. It is worth noting that Pittsburgh will be without safety DeShon Elliott (knee) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring), but newcomer Jabril Peppers may get some run in their absence despite joining the team just a few days ago. With playmakers such as T.J. Watt and Jalen Ramsey leading the way, the Steelers D/ST can remain in fantasy lineups on Sunday.

San Francisco 49ers running back
Christian McCaffrey is not listed on the team's final injury report for Week 2. McCaffrey did not practice on Wednesday with his injury description listed as both calf and resting, but practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. The 29-year-old carried a questionable tag into the season opener but logged 31 touches for 162 scrimmage yards in the 49ers' 17-13 win over the Seahawks. With quarterback
Brock Purdy (toe, shoulder) ruled out and tight end
George Kittle (hamstring) on injured reserve, the offense can be expected to run through McCaffrey once again when the 49ers face the Saints on Sunday. A weekly favorite for an RB1 finish, he is a must-start for Week 2.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver
Tyquan Thornton had two catches for 41 yards in the Week 1 loss to the Chargers. With
Xavier Worthy (shoulder), who was injured early in the opener, doubtful for the Week 2 Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles, there is room for others to benefit.
Marquise Brown, who had 10 catches (16 targets) for 99 yards against Los Angeles, has the best chance of remaining the No. 1 wideout.
Travis Kelce should also continue to get attention from
Patrick Mahomes. With that in mind, Mahomes can spread the ball around, so it's hard to predict if Thornton will stay involved enough to justify his presence in fantasy lineups. Although the 25-year-old should have a role in Week 2, fantasy managers will be rolling the dice if utilizing his services for streaming purposes against Philly.

In the season opener, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker
Chris Boswell picked up right where he left off in 2024, drilling two field goals and four extra points. Most notably, he set a franchise record with a 60-yarder that gave Pittsburgh a 34-32 lead with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter. Boswell will look to carry this momentum into a Week 2 meeting with the Seattle Seahawks, who fared well against fantasy kickers last season. Despite the matchup and modest projected point total, Boswell's consistency keeps him in play as a reliable starter across all formats.

Baltimore Ravens tight end
Mark Andrews had only one catch for five yards in the upset loss to the Bills. While that statistical line was disappointing, his one target was even more troubling for fantasy managers. Fresh off a loss, Baltimore will look to pick up a win over the Browns in Week 2. Andrews has played extremely well versus Cleveland throughout his career (14 games), totaling 59 catches for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns. Still, after a disastrous Week 1 effort, he's hard to trust, especially with so many options on the offensive side of the ball for the Ravens. Without question, Andrews can get hot, so there's rarely a time when he isn't featured in a fantasy lineup. However, there is some risk involved, which is something fantasy managers need to consider.

Pat Freiermuth saw three targets last week and will look to build on his chemistry with quarterback
Aaron Rodgers in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle was middle-of-the-road against opposing tight ends last season, but surrendered plenty of fantasy points to the position in its season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for Freiermuth, new addition
Jonnu Smith appears to have a more significant role in Pittsburgh's offense. Smith led the Steelers' tight end room in snaps, targets, and receptions in Week 1. Freiermuth has proven to be a productive player over his five-year career, so while he is sure to have some big games this season, it will be difficult to predict them so long as the team's weapons stay healthy. He should be rostered in dynasty formats, but Freiermuth can remain on waiver wires in most redraft leagues.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver
Keenan Allen had seven catches for 68 yards in the Week 1 win over the Chiefs. While he wasn't as productive as
Ladd McConkey and
Quentin Johnston, the veteran wideout had a team-high 10 targets while finding the end zone in the third quarter off of an 11-yard throw from
Justin Herbert. With a win in the books, Los Angeles will face Las Vegas in Week 2 in another AFC West showdown.
Geno Smith played well in the win over the Patriots. However, the defense still struggled at times, especially defending the pass. Not much is expected to change on that front on Monday night. It's apparent Allen and Herbert still have strong on-field chemistry. With that in mind, the 33-year-old appears to have some gas left in the tank, making him worthy of a spot in all fantasy lineups in Week 2.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback
Mac Jones will get the start in Sunday's meeting with the Saints. With
Brock Purdy (toe) out for the foreseeable future, the 49ers will now turn to Jones, who hasn't exactly had the best track record since entering the league in 2021. San Francisco will also be without
George Kittle (hamstring). That may also be the case for
Jauan Jennings (shoulder), who is listed as questionable. However,
Christian McCaffrey is in the mix, which certainly helps take some pressure off of the signal-caller. Jones, who has thrown for 10,590 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 44 interceptions throughout his career, reportedly looked good during training camp. All things considered, Jones has a favorable matchup in Week 2 versus New Orleans, so he deserves consideration in SuperFlex formats. The 27-year-old should also see interest from DFS managers due to his rostering cost.

Chicago Bears kicker
Cairo Santos had a rough start to his 12th NFL season. He connected on three extra points but went just 1-of-2 on field goals, missing a crucial 50-yarder that ultimately proved to be the difference in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. To make matters worse, on the final kickoff, the Bears needed Santos to boot the ball out of the end zone, but his short kick was returned and forced the clock to run down to the two-minute warning. Frustration with Santos' kicking strength appears to be growing in Chicago, as the team signed former 49ers kicker
Jake Moody to the practice squad ahead of Week 2. With the Bears traveling to Detroit, Santos enters the week ranked as K23 and should be considered unstartable in fantasy. This could be a make-or-break week for his job security.

The Chicago Bears' defense struggled in the second half of Week 1 despite scoring a pick-six. The unit surrendered 27 points overall but managed to salvage 5 fantasy points thanks to the interception return for a touchdown. Key absences didn't help, as the Bears were without top corners Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon, along with linebacker T.J. Edwards. Week 2 presents an even tougher challenge against the Detroit Lions, who led the NFL in scoring in 2024. While Detroit stumbled in Week 1 against a stout Green Bay defense, this matchup is still a steep uphill battle for Chicago. The Bears D/ST is an easy sit in Week 2 and should not be trusted in fantasy lineups.

Cole Kmet had a quiet season opener, catching just one of four targets for 31 yards in the 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. His lone grab came on the final drive, a highlight-worthy one-handed diving catch over the middle. While rookie
Colston Loveland has entered the rotation, Kmet still dominated usage, logging 90% of the snaps compared to Loveland's 56%, and handling 77% of one-tight-end sets versus Loveland's 23%. The volume and role remain encouraging, but the matchup is a major concern in Week 2. The Bears face a Detroit Lions defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points to tight ends in 2024. With a difficult opponent and a reduced ceiling due to Loveland's presence, Kmet is better left on fantasy benches this week.

Atlanta Falcons running back
Bijan Robinson ran into a wall in Week 1 versus the Buccaneers, gaining just 24 yards on 12 attempts. However, he salvaged his day in the passing game, garnering seven targets and catching six of them for 100 yards receiving, which included a 50-yard touchdown scamper. The 23-year-old could have a tough go of it on the ground again in Week 2 on the road in Minnesota against a stout Vikings run defense that allowed just 53 yards rushing to running backs in Week 1, and allowed the second-fewest rush yards per game in 2024. Robinson did gain 92 yards against the Vikings in their 2024 matchup, but it took him 22 carries to get there. Averaging more than four targets per game a year ago and with a healthy dose of targets in Week 1, expect the former first-round draft pick to be heavily involved in both phases again, and with his ability to find the end zone, he shapes up as a top-five option at the position in Week 2.
