Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher
Quinn Priester (wrist) was scratched from his scheduled start on Wednesday. According to Brewers manager Pat Murphy, Priester is being pushed back to Saturday due to a wrist issue. It doesn't sound like something that is going to require a trip to the injured list. Instead, the Brewers will opt to give Priester some extra rest and hope that'll fix the issue. In his place,
Aaron Ashby will draw the start on Wednesday with newly signed
Erick Fedde serving as the bulk option out of the bullpen. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy formats. Fantasy managers should check back later in the week for another update on Priester.

Chicago White Sox shortstop
Colson Montgomery (side) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. Montgomery has been playing through some left side discomfort, so he'll get the day off here. He underwent imaging, but it didn't reveal anything significant. That being said, fantasy managers should consider Montgomery as day-to-day. Montgomery has been on a nice power streak with four home runs in his last four games. The rookie infielder has 14 homers through 43 games with the White Sox this season. He's not offering a ton of value outside of that, but is still worth rostering in deep leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays catcher
Alejandro Kirk (hand) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Kirk underwent X-rays on his hand after getting hit by a foul tip during Tuesday's game. Luckily, the X-rays came back negative, so Kirk appears to have avoided major injury. The Jays are going to take the cautious approach and hold out Kirk on Wednesday. He could miss a few games until the swelling goes down. However, it sounds like Kirk will avoid a trip to the injured list.
Tyler Heineman will do the catching and bat eighth against the Twins on Wednesday.

Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz said that outfilder
Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) suffered a Grade 2 hamsting strain and conceded that it's "possible he's done for the year." "We're committed to Luis," Getz said when asked how it affects the team's decision for his $20 million option for next season. With less than five weeks remaining in another lost season for the White Sox, it doesn't make sense to bring back the oft-injured Cuban outfielder. The 28-year-old has been better in the second half of the season, hitting just under .300, but overall he will finishe with an underwhelming .223/.297/.364 slash line if he doesn't return in 2025. Robert added 14 home runs, 53 RBI, 52 runs scored and 33 stolen bases in 382 at-bats and remains useful in all fantasy leagues because of his power/speed combination, but fantasy managers probably won't take him too seriously unless he's in a different uniform.

Toronto Blue Jays infielder
Ernie Clement (finger) underwent a CT scan of his left hand on Tuesday that showed a small hairline fracture at the bottom of his middle finger, according to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet. Clement also had 10 stitches in his left shin after a collision at third base on Tuesday, but he's considered day-to-day as of now and is expected to avoid the injured list. He is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Minnesota Twins. For however long the 29-year-old remains out, expect
Addison Barger to handle third base duties in Toronto. Clement doesn't have much power or speed to speak of (nine homers, four steals in 460 at-bats), but he is a key role player for the first-place Blue Jays and is hitting a strong .274 (126 hits) with his contact-oriented approach at the plate.

Washington Nationals catcher
Drew Millas (finger) was pulled from Wednesday's game early against the New York Yankees with a fracture and a dislocation of his left second finger, according to Nationals Communications. Millas went hitless in his only at-bat of an eventual 11-2 blowout loss, and he was replaced behind the dish by
Riley Adams. The 27-year-old backstop was injured when
Austin Wells' bat hit Millas' hand during a swing, which resulted in catcher's interference. Millas will almost certainly land on the 10-day injured list and could miss the rest of the 2025 season with just over a month left of action in the regular season.
Keibert Ruiz (concussion) remains on the IL, so with Millas now hurt, Adams could be counted on even more behind the dish in D.C. Millas came into Wednesday's tilt hitting .313 but in just 54 plate appearances.

The Chicago White Sox announced on Wednesday that they placed outfielder
Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list with a left-hamstring strain and recalled outfielder
Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Robert was injured in Game 2 of the series against the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. Given the 28-year-old's history with lower-body injuries, it's safe to say that fantasy managers should expect him to be out for longer than 10 days. Despite only hitting .223 (85-for-382) on the year in 110 games, Robert remains fantasy relevant in all leagues because of his power/speed contributions of 14 home runs, 53 RBI, 33 stolen bases and 52 runs scored. Cincinnati Reds catching prospect
Alfredo Duno went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, and a run scored on Tuesday for Single-A Daytona. The performance extended his hit streak to 12 games, during which time he's gone 17-for-41 (.415) with six doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored, and a 10:6 BB:K. The Reds' third-ranked prospect seems ready for a tougher challenge, now with a .287/.427/.501 slash line in 104 games while walking (85) as much as he's striking out (85). The 19-year-old backstop has a ton of power and could start to rise quickly up the prospect ranks. Dynasty managers should be watching his performance over the remainder of this season and into next year.

Cleveland Guardians infield prospect
Angel Genao hit a grand slam on Tuesday for Double-A Akron, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored in the contest. The Guardians' third-ranked prospect has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 15-for-49 (.306) with four doubles, a triple, and a home run during that stretch. It has pushed his season-long slash line in 62 games at Double-A to .257/.315/.369. The switch-hitter suffered a shoulder sprain in the spring that delayed the start of his season until early June, but he appears to be rounding into form after hitting .330 last year with 10 home runs and 25 steals. The 21-year-old has a good chance to make the majors next season, and could be an intriguing fantasy asset with his skillset that includes an above-average hit tool, a little power, and the ability to steal bases.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfield prospect
Ryan Waldschmidt drew a walk and hit a two-run home run in a 1-for-4 day at the plate on Tuesday for Double-A Amarillo, scoring twice in the contest as well. The D-backs' second-ranked prospect has flourished since his promotion to Double-A, slashing .290/.413/.492 with seven home runs and 14 steals in 50 games at that level. He's been even hotter lately, going 26-for-59 (.441) over his last 16 games, with six of his seven Double-A home runs coming during that stretch. The 22-year-old has also nearly walked as much as he's struck out for the Sod Poodles, registering a 36:38 BB:K. At this rate, he could see some time at Triple-A before the season is over, and could be knocking on the door to the majors at some point next year. The 31st overall pick from last year's MLB Draft should be stashed away in dynasty leagues.

Minnesota Twins right-hander
Pablo Lopez (shoulder) made his second minor-league rehab start on Tuesday night with Triple-A St. Paul and went four innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out five. Lopez threw 46 of his 68 pitches for strikes and got 12 swings and misses. It wasn't a dominant outing, but he might need only one more rehab start on the farm before the Twins activate him from the 60-day injured list and return him to their starting rotation to close out the 2025 season. The 29-year-old has been out since June 5 with a right teres-major muscle strain in his right shoulder, but before the injury, he had gone 5-3 for the Twins with a career-best 2.82 ERA (3.03 FIP) and 1.07 WHIP with 61 punchouts and 14 walks in 60 2/3 frames over his 11 starts. The Atlanta Braves are expected to give right-hander
Spencer Strider an extra day off before his next start, which will deprive him of a two-start week, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Meanwhile, impressive rookie right-hander
Hurston Waldrep will be afforded one more start in what has been a dominant month of August. The 26-year-old Strider's next appearance is scheduled to come on Monday in a tough matchup against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. He's been far from the form of his breakout 2023 season this year, mainly due to injuries, but Strider did bounce back with a seven-inning, one-run performance on Monday versus the Miami Marlins. Before that, he had surrendered 20 earned runs on 29 hits (seven homers) in 11 2/3 innings in his previous three starts. Fantasy managers will be hoping his good outing on Monday carries over into a showdown with the Cubbies.

Philadelphia Phillies outfield prospect
Dante Nori has been promoted to High-A Jersey Shore after a solid campaign at Single-A Clearwater. The Phils' sixth-ranked prospect slashed .262/.363/.381 with four home runs and a 66:75 BB:K in 109 games played. His 63 runs scored and 37 stolen bases were both top five in the Florida State League at the time of his promotion. The 2024 first-rounder doesn't offer much power yet, but should grow into more, and has a solid hit tool with an excellent eye to go along with plenty of speed. That combination makes him a prospect to monitor in dynasty formats.

The Miami Marlins announced on Wednesday that they placed right-hander
Janson Junk (elbow) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 24) with right ulnar-nerve irritation and recalled right-handers
Seth Martinez and
Freddy Tarnok from Triple-A Jacksonville in corresponding moves. Left-hander
Josh Simpson was optioned to Jacksonville. The 29-year-old Junk was forced to exit his last start on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays with a right-arm injury, and now he'll have to miss at least the next two weeks. Given the nature of his injury, there's a very good chance we won't see Junk pitch for the Marlins again in 2025. The former 22nd-round pick by the New York Yankees in 2017 out of Seattle University has gone 6-2 with a 4.09 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 61:10 K:BB in 17 outings (12 starts) over 88 innings for the Fish this year. It's unclear who might take Junk's rotation spot.
