The Baltimore Ravens planned to select quarterback Shedeur Sanders with their fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but once the quarterback heard about the Ravens' plans, he nixed the pick. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Sanders "let it be known to Baltimore that he didn't want to be on a roster with Lamar Jackson." The Ravens pivoted to offensive lineman Carson Vinson with the No. 141 pick, and Sanders landed with the Browns three selections later. Schefter's report seems to indicate that Sanders didn't have anything against Jackson in particular, and his concern was more about being stuck behind any quarterback who wasn't going to relinquish their starting role anytime soon. He likely would have had a similar reaction to being drafted by any team with an established starter, which is why Cleveland ended up being an ideal landing spot for him. While Joe Flacco is the Browns' starter for the time being, Sanders has a chance to start games later this season if Flacco struggles or Cleveland's playoff hopes are destroyed.--Andersen Pickard

The Los Angeles Rams want to feature veteran wide receiver Davante Adams more often during Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Tennessee Titans. "Sean McVay was pleased with what the Rams accomplished in the passing game in Week 1, but getting Davante Adams a bit more involved will be a goal against [the] Titans," writes Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Adams finished his Rams debut with eight targets, four catches, and 51 yards. It was a fine showing for the veteran receiver, but certainly not on par with his full potential. Speaking with Klein, Adams said that he's trying to contribute however he can, and the number of targets he receives is not his concern. He noted that he thinks his and Puka Nacua's roles will vary week by week. If one player is having a big game, they'll command more attention from the defense, leaving the other receiver with opportunities to make plays happen in one-on-one coverage. As it stands, both players are strong WR2 options with WR1 upside.--Andersen Pickard

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (collarbone) is looking at a multiple-month absence. According to Ian Rapoport, Reed was given a six-to-eight-week timetable to return. Reed suffered a broken collarbone during the Week 2 win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday night. This timeframe means that Reed is likely out until some point in November. Fantasy managers can go ahead and place Reed on their Injured Reserve if they haven't already. The good news is that Reed isn't going to be done for the season. His absence should mean increased roles for Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, and Tucker Kraft.--Andy Webb

New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga (knee) remains listed as questionable heading into the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Despite that, Nick Underhill reports that Fuaga is expected to suit up for this contest. Fuaga missed Wednesday's practice, but was able to get in two limited sessions to finish the week. The absence of Fuaga would certainly hurt the blindside of Spencer Rattler. Asim Richards would likely be asked to take over if Fuaga is unable to go.--Andy Webb

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams (knee) remains listed as questionable ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Williams made an early exit from the season opener due to a knee injury. He was able to return to the contest, but appears to still be dealing with the knee issue. The absence of Williams would be a huge loss to the 49ers' offensive line. It would be a major downgrade for the blind side of Mac Jones. The plan is for Williams to test his knee pre-game before making a final decision. If he sits, Spencer Burford would be in line to take over at left tackle.--Andy Webb

According to Adam Schefter, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) is expected to suit up for the Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Jennings is currently listed as questionable, but it sounds like he's trending towards suiting up. He was tagged as a game-time decision on Saturday, but it sounds like he has improved overnight. The 49ers could certainly use Jennings on the field with George Kittle (hamstring) sidelined. Jennings will probably take a hit in value with Brock Purdy (toe) out. However, the 49ers are so limited on options that Jennings should remain a viable fantasy option even with Mac Jones under center.--Andy Webb

According to Adam Schefter, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) is unlikely to play in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. Purdy will be absent in Week 2, and it sounds like he'll miss multiple games due to a turf-toe issue. There's a chance that Purdy misses as many as five games from this injury. Backup Mac Jones will be under center in Week 2, and it sounds like he'll be drawing multiple starts. Jones doesn't offer a ton of upside, but he has value in superflex fantasy formats for those desperate at the QB position already. It sounds like the 49ers are going to need to lean on him for at least two games.--Andy Webb

According to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor (ankle) is likely to be available when his team takes on the division rival Buffalo Bills. The rookie is listed as questionable on the Jets' official injury report, but he practiced Friday and has made progress throughout the week, putting him in line to see the field Sunday. Taylor had one catch for 20 yards in Week 1, and he could see some additional work this week. But given the matchup against Buffalo, Taylor should only be considered in formats that start two tight ends.--Nick Piotrowicz

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn made all three of his field goal attempts in Week 1, including a pair of long chances from over 50 yards. He accounted for all the Texans' scoring in their 14-9 loss to the Rams as the offense sputtered. If the offense continues to struggle to score touchdowns, Fairbairn could continue to get plenty of field goal chances, and on Monday night, he'll play at home in Houston's NRG Stadium, where the retractable roof usually leads to a friendly kicking environment. Fairbairn is the No. 6 kicker in the RotoBaller rankings, making him a solid starting option in most standard-sized leagues this week.--Zach Thompson

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Laiatu Latu (hamstring) is unlikely to play when his team takes on the Denver Broncos, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. According to Rapoport, the Colts do not believe the former first-round pick's injury is serious, but likely will opt for caution on Sunday. Latu had four sacks as a rookie and looks to be in line for a larger role this season, though the injury is a small setback for the time being. Managers rostering Latu in IDP leagues should look to find another option in Week 2.--Nick Piotrowicz

The Houston Texans defense actually played fairly well in their Week 1 loss to the Rams, but the offense couldn't get a single touchdown as the team fell, 14-9. The defense forced two turnovers and had three sacks against Matthew Stafford, with Henry To'oTo'o, Will Anderson Jr., and Folorunso Fatukasi each recording a single sack. In Week 2, they'll face Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, and in Week 1, the Bucs gave up just one sack with no turnovers against the Falcons. The Texans have a strong enough pass rush to still be a decent option, and they typically play low-scoring games under coach DeMeco Ryans. They are the No. 14 DST according to the RotoBaller rankings, making them a fringe start in most standard-sized leagues.--Zach Thompson

Houston Texans tight end Harrison Bryant didn't play a snap in Week 1 against the Rams since he was on the practice squad, but he's expected to be involved on Monday Night Football against the Buccaneers since Cade Stover (foot) was placed on Injured Reserve and is out indefinitely. Bryant will serve as the primary backup behind Dalton Schultz, but Stover was very involved in Week 1, playing 57% of snaps and catching all four of his targets for 22 yards. While Schultz will likely get most of that work, Bryant could get a few looks as well. The Texans' offensive line struggled in Week 1, so Bryant could also be used as an extra blocker. He's not a fantasy option yet, as just the TE56 in the RotoBaller Week 2 rankings, but it will be worth watching how Stover's looks are divided up this Monday night.--Zach Thompson

The Minnesota Vikings could opt for caution in bringing safety Harrison Smith (illness) back to the field, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The veteran safety only recently returned to practice after missing weeks with an undisclosed ailment, and Rapoport indicated it would not be a surprise to see the Vikings keep him out of the Week 2 game against Atlanta. Smith didn't provide specifics about the illness when he met with reporters this week, but said his conditioning would be the key part of his return. For IDP leagues, Theo Jackson and Jay Ward are likely to see their playing time increase if Smith misses another week.--Nick Piotrowicz

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz has the potential for a big workload in Week 2, when his team hosts the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. Schultz tied for the team lead with five targets in Week 1, and his backup tight end, Cade Stover, had four more targets. C.J. Stroud's lack of reliable protection forced him to check down to his tight ends early and often against the Rams. As a result, Schultz hauled in three catches for 28 yards for the Texans' struggling offense against the Rams, while Stover caught all four of his targets for 22 yards. However, Stover also suffered a broken foot and will be out indefinitely, potentially leaving even more work for Schultz. Against the Bucs, Schultz is the No. 18 TE in the RotoBaller rankings, and he can be an emergency starter or TE2 in most standard-sized leagues this week.--Zach Thompson

Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins did lead his team in receiving yards in Week 1, but the offense struggled so badly against the Rams that he still only had 32 yards on two catches. He'll look for better totals in Week 2 against the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football in the early game of the doubleheader. Higgins only played 43% of snaps, working behind veterans Xavier Hutchinson and Justin Watson. He drew three targets and converted two into catches, but the third was ripped out of his hands by Cobie Durant for an interception. Higgins flashed some upside, but the fact that he played so few snaps in an offense that struggled so much makes him hard to trust in Week 2. He's the WR67 in the RotoBaller rankings for Week 2, and he should be on the bench in most formats until he gets a larger role. The rookie still has long-term potential, but the offense would have to find its groove to make him a fantasy factor.--Zach Thompson
