In the first and the third round, Blaydes used his wrestling and clinch game to get the better of Kuniev, and Kuniev's striking won him the second round. Tofiq Musayev suffered a first-round submission loss to Myktybek Orolbai on the main card of UFC Azerbaijan on Saturday. Musayev made his UFC debut, but he couldn't do much as he got taken down three times during the fight and was controlled. Just before the first round came to a close, Orolbai snatched up Musayev's arm and finished him via kimura submission. In 4:35 of action, Musayev landed two significant strikes. Orolbai's game plan was to wrestle, and that was evident from the beginning of the fight. Just before the first round came to a close, Orolbai landed a kimura from half guard, forcing the tap. Nikolas Motta suffered a second-round TKO loss to Nazim Sadykhov on the main card of UFC Azerbaijan on Saturday. After seven straight bouts ended in decisions to start the card, this was an exciting, bloody, back-and-forth fight. The finish almost came in the first round after Motta hurt Sadykhov alongside the fence, but Sadykhov managed to survive. The fight ended after Sadykhov landed a brutal hook that dropped Motta, allowing for a barrage of punches to seal the deal. In 9:17 of action, Motta landed 66 significant strikes. Nazim Sadykhov picked up a second-round TKO win over Nikolas Motta on the main card of UFC Azerbaijan on Saturday. It was a back-and-forth encounter, one that almost ended in the first round after Motta hurt Sadykhov while Sadykhov was trying to defend himself alongside the fence. The fight ended in the second round after Sadykhov dropped Motta for the TKO finish. In 9:17 of action, Sadykhov landed 93 significant strikes. Bogdan Grad suffered a unanimous decision loss to Muhammad Naimov on the UFC Azerbaijan main card opener on Saturday. Naimov was clearly better in the first round as he managed to hurt Grad. Grad came back fully recovered and won the second round. However, in the third round, Naimov was able to control Grad on the mat, so he emerged with a unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). In 15 minutes of action, Grad landed three takedowns and 31 significant strikes. Grad is now 1-1 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic

Muhammad Naimov won his second fight in a row by defeating Bogdan Grad via unanimous decision on the UFC Azerbaijan main card opener on Saturday. Naimov hurt Grad in the first round with a spinning hook kick, but Grad managed to recover and win the second round. The third round went to Naimov, who managed to control Grad on the mat. Former light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill is scheduled to face off against Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of UFC Azerbaijan.
