Packers D/ST Primed For Great Matchup Against Saints In Week 16
Spencer Rattler, who is 0-3 as a starter. Combine that with the Saints not having Alvin Kamara available and the Packers D/ST unit looking like one of the best plays for Week 16 for fantasy managers at D/ST.Source: RotoBaller
The Green Bay Packers' defense and special teams' unit looks to build off the momentum of one of their best games of the season as they host the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. The Packers' defense was one of the stars of Green Bay's Week 15 win against the Seattle Seahawks as they tallied seven sacks and two interceptions as a unit. Those seven sacks were the second-highest total the defense has put up all season and now gets a shell of an offense in New Orleans that is starting Tucker Kraft A Low-End TE1 For Week 16 Against The Saints
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft had his worst fantasy performance in the past four games and looks to right the ship against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. Kraft has been a solidread more...
Christian Watson A Boom-Or-Bust Flex Option Against Saints
Christian Watson has been the Packers' primary downfield option in recent weeks and looks to break off some long gains as the Packers host the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. Watson's game is well-known at this point for fantasy: break off a long gain or two and hope he gets into the end zone. With two 100-yard games in his past five contests, Watson has been a solid fantasy option. When he hasn't, he's been hard to stomach when in lineups. With Romeo Doubs returning last week from concussion protocol, that adds another weapon and spreads out targets even more for the other remaining pass-catchers like Watson, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, and others. With Watson being a clear boom-or-bust option in fantasy football lineups, he's more of a volatile flex option despite a great matchup against the Saints in Week 16.Source: RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed Merely In Flex Territory For Week 16
Jayden Reed had a hot start to his 2024 NFL season but has been stuck in a slump. He'll look to climb out of it in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Reed has 34 receiving yards or fewer and is averaging less than four targets per game in his last five games. While Reed has three touchdowns in those games, those touchdowns are what is fueling his fantasy value lately, not his target-earning ability. Add in Romeo Doubs returning to the Packers' lineup from concussion protocol last week, and that addition continues to smooth out targets for every other pass-catching option for Green Bay. The Saints have been a middle-of-the-pack team in defending slot receivers this season, so the matchup isn't a slam dunk. Despite that, Reed is a low-end flex option for fantasy managers given the Packers' focus on the run and dwindling passing-game opportunities.Source: RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs Looking To Stay Hot In Week 16
Romeo Doubs looks to keep his strong start going after returning from concussion protocol when the Packers host the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Doubs, who hadn't played since Week 12, cleared concussion protocol to suit up in Week 15 and he scored twice and caught three passes for 40 yards on five targets. With Doubs back in the fold for the Packers, he adds a solid, consistent option to the Packers' pass-catching group, but the Packers have been leaning towards the run in recent weeks. Not to mention that the Packers and quarterback Jordan Love have also spread the wealth among their targets, so not one player has been the clear go-to receiver in the latest stretch of games. Doubs is a solid flex option for fantasy managers in a good matchup against the Saints, but the ceiling is low.Source: RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Lock Josh Jacobs In For RB1 Treatment Against Saints
Josh Jacobs looks to keep his awesome run going in Week 16 as the Packers host the New Orleans Saints. Jacobs has been on fire over the last five games, where he's scored nine touchdowns and averages 21 carries and 112 total yards per game. The Packers have been leaning more and more towards the run in the second half of this season as Green Bay has a bottom-five pass rate over expected. The expectation for Jacobs to continue that rushing volume is there against a Saints team that ranks 28th in defensive EPA per rush attempt. With this excellent matchup looming, it should be no surprise that Jacobs is a must-start option at running back for fantasy managers this week.Source: RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers running back Consider Jordan Love A Low-End QB Streamer In Week 16
Jordan Love has a great matchup on tap as the Packers host the New Orleans Saints in Week 16. Love has been solid this season, but for fantasy purposes, it's left fantasy managers wanting a bit more. With just one top 12 finish among fantasy quarterbacks in the last four weeks, Love has been a floor play in fantasy despite multiple touchdowns in three of those four weeks. The lack of passing volume and increasing willingness to lean into the run with Josh Jacobs has impacted the fantasy viability of not just Love, but Green Bay's pass-catchers too. With a great matchup against the Saints who give up the seventh-highest passing yards per game this season, Love is a low-end fantasy starting quarterback, but realistically, he's more of a streaming candidate for Week 16.Source: RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jaire Alexander Practicing In Full This Week
Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) appears to be well on his way to playing on Monday night in Week 16 against the visiting New Orleans Saints. Alexander practiced in full on both Thursday and Friday and could be completely removed from the injury report if he does the same for the third straight day in Saturday's practice. The 27-year-old defensive back has missed the last four games due to a PCL injury that he suffered against the Chicago Bears in Week 11. Alexander is on track to return this week, although we'd expect the Packers to limit his snap count after missing more than a month of action due to his knee injury. The two-time Pro Bowler isn't on the fantasy map in IDP leagues, but his return down the stretch would be a big boost to an underrated Packers defense heading into the playoffs in January.Luke Musgrave Limited Again On Friday
Luke Musgrave (ankle) put in another day with a limited practice on Friday. The Packers will face the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 16, so Green Bay will have one more day of practice on Saturday. Since having his 21-day practice window opened to return from Injured Reserve, the 24-year-old has practiced on a limited basis five times. Unless he upgrades to a full session on Saturday, it's possible the Packers keep Musgrave on IR for another week. Musgrave has looked good in practice this week, but Green Bay has no incentive to rush him back and risk him not being 100 percent for the playoffs in four weeks. Even when Musgrave returns, he'll play second fiddle to starting tight end Tucker Kraft and will be off the fantasy radar. In four games before going on IR, Musgrave caught five of his seven targets for 22 yards and a touchdown.Source: Packers.com
Green Bay Packers tight end Jaire Alexander Back At Practice Thursday
Source: Rob Demovsky
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) was back at practice on Thursday and considered a full participant during a snowy session. The two-time pro bowler hasn't played since Week 11 and has only logged a total of 10 snaps after Week 8. Getting one of their top defensive backs would do wonders for the Packers defense, especially against a New Orleans Saints team that's hurting and may need to go to their rookie quarterback. This season, Alexander has registered two interceptions (one pick-six), seven passes defended, and 16 total tackles (15 solo).Packers Leaving Door Open For MarShawn Lloyd To Return This Season
MarShawn Lloyd (appendix) returning to action this season. When discussing Lloyd with the media on Thursday, head coach Matt LaFleur said, "I never want to shut the door on that. ... He's just going to focus on continuing to get better and when he can go, he'll go." The 23-year-old has endured a frustrating start to his NFL career, appearing in just one game so far. The rookie played back in Week 2, rushing six times for 15 yards on the ground while adding a three-yard reception. Lloyd remains a key part of the Packers' future plans, but the chances of him getting back on the field before fantasy playoffs conclude are slim. He should be dropped in all redraft formats and stashed in dynasty leagues.Source: Wes Hodkiewicz
The Green Bay Packers are not ready to rule out the possibility of running back Luke Musgrave Limited As Practice Gets Underway In Week 16
Luke Musgrave (ankle) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. The 24-year-old remains on injured reserve, but it looks like he's gradually getting closer to returning given that he was able to practice in a limited capacity. He has been sidelined since Week 4, leaving Green Bay's tight end room in the more-than-capable hands of Tucker Kraft, who is the overall TE8 in fantasy football this year. Even when he's cleared to return to play, Musgrave will be off the fantasy radar in all leagues.Source: Wes Hodkiewicz
Green Bay Packers tight end No Concerns For Jordan Love After Injury Scare
Jordan Love (thigh), who was seen limping slightly late in the Week 15 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. Head coach Matt LaFleur said Love took a shot to his thigh but doesn't expect him to be limited in practice preparation for the team's Week 16 contest on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints. The 26-year-old didn't miss a single snap against Seattle and finished 20-for-27 for 229 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. Love is averaging 218 yards per game with seven touchdowns and no interceptions in his last four games and should be considered at least a low-end QB1 for fantasy managers in the semifinals in most leagues in a favorable primetime matchup against New Orleans this week.Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
There aren't any apparent concerns for Green Bay Packers quarterback Josh Jacobs’ Touchdown, 136 Total Yards Lift Packers In Week 15 Victory
Josh Jacobs was a utilization monster as he touched the ball 30 times and was an integral part of the team's 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. Setting the tone early in game was Jacobs, as he touched the ball in 9-of-10 plays on the game's opening drive that ended on a Jacobs rushing touchdown from one yard out. Jacobs ended the night with 26 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown, as well as catching 4-of-4 targets for 42 yards through the air. It was a continuation of a massive run for Jacobs as he's scored nine touchdowns in his past five games. With the Packers going back home to Lambeau Field to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, Jacobs is a locked-in RB1 and a must-start option for fantasy managers.Source: ESPN
Green Bay Packers running back Christian Watson Leads Packers In Targets, Tallies 56 Yards
Christian Watson helped co-lead the Packers in targets and was a solid contributor in the Packers' 30-13 win against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. Watson co-led the Packers in targets with Jayden Reed and was their downfield thread on the boundary, leading the team with 56 yards receiving. Watson's long catch of 36 yards helped the Packers set up a second-quarter field goal. His 56-yard effort comes off the heels of a 114-yard game in Week 14, so it does feel like a disappointment, but Romeo Doubs returning from concussion protocol may have spread the targets out just a bit. With Watson and the Packers heading back home to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 16, Watson should be considered a volatile flex option for fantasy purposes.Source: ESPN
