The Denver Broncos' defense remains an elite fantasy option heading into Week 2. The unit, which finished as the No. 1 fantasy defense in 2024, dominated in its opener with a 20-12 win over Tennessee, racking up six sacks and two turnovers while finishing as the top-scoring D/ST of Week 1. This week, the Broncos face Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts, who looked explosive in their opener against Miami's bottom-tier defense. History suggests Jones struggles under heavy pressure, and Denver's pass rush is among the league's best. If the Broncos bring consistent heat, turnovers should follow. The Broncos D/ST is a must-start in all fantasy formats for Week 2.--Nathan Harvey

The Tennessee Titans' defense turned in a strong fantasy performance in Week 1, forcing four turnovers against the Denver Broncos while allowing 20 points to finish as the 10th-ranked D/ST. However, their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams is far less favorable. Matthew Stafford has thrown just one interception over his last 10 games, limiting turnover opportunities. On top of that, Tennessee struggled against the run in Week 1 and will be without 2024 second-round pick T'Vondre Sweat, leaving them vulnerable to the Rams' ground game. Despite the promising Week 1 showing, the Titans' D/ST is best left on the bench or the waiver wire this week.--Nathan Harvey

The Indianapolis Colts defense will host the Denver Broncos in Week 2. Indianapolis was impressive in a Week 1 win, holding the Miami Dolphins to just eight points while notching three sacks and forcing three turnovers. They will look to keep it going against a Broncos offense that was sloppy in the season opener, turning the ball over four times in a win over the Tennessee Titans. The Colts don't have a formidable defense, but they could turn in a decent fantasy outing if the Broncos continue to turn the ball over. The Colts are outside the top-12 D/STs as a redraft option, but are worth a look as a DFS choice in tournaments on Sunday.--Matt Terelle

The Baltimore Ravens defense/special teams had a rough go of things against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 1. Throughout three quarters, they looked okay, but then a nightmare of a fourth quarter saw them giving up 22 points and eventually the game. In standard scoring, they came away with negative points in a lot of fantasy leagues. The good news is that Joe Flacco and the Browns are nowhere near the level of the Bills. Plus, Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy decided to give them some added motivation when he said there were 'no challenges' with the Ravens' defensive backs. This unit should be back in the starting discussion when it comes to D/ST decisions this week.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

The Kansas City Chiefs defense will have all they can handle facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. The Chiefs defensive unit just allowed 27 points to the Los Angeles Chargers in their Week 1 loss. Despite giving up nearly 30 points to a division rival, the Chiefs defense came away with three sacks in this contest. This defensive unit yielded 40 points to Philadelphia in the Super Bowl, so fantasy managers should be a little hesitant about trusting them in this spot. The Kansas City Chiefs are the 23rd-best defense in our RotoBallers rankings this week, making them a unit you should likely avoid. Fantasy managers would be wise to find a suitable alternative at this position.--Joshua Costello

The San Francisco 49ers defense/special teams has a juicy Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Exploiting second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler's inexperience will be key to San Francisco's success. Rattler has averaged 33.2 pass attempts per game but has a 57.3% completion rate in his young career. In Week 1, he let it rip 46 times but completed only 27 of those passes. That's a lot of balls that miss their mark. With any luck, the 49ers' secondary can bring in at least one of those errant throws on Sunday. The team shouldn't have a problem keeping points off the board, either. Rattler's Saints have averaged 12.4 points per game in his seven career starts. If San Francisco's D/ST is still on your league's wire, they are worth streaming on Sunday.--Dan Stephens

The New York Giants defense is a risky fantasy start for Week 2 against a potent Dallas Cowboys offense, despite a solid sack total in Week 1. While the Giants' defense recorded three sacks against Washington, including two by Brian Burns, they also allowed three touchdowns and were on the field for an extended period. They face a Cowboys offense that scored 20 points in their Week 1 loss to the Eagles and features a dynamic passing attack led by Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys' offense ranked 18th overall in Week 1 with 307 total yards, and they pose a significant threat, making the Giants' Defense a high-risk, low-reward play this week.--Danny Boily

The Seattle Seahawks defense/special teams performed at a high level in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. They draw the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2, who just hung 34 points on the New York Jets. The Steelers are riding high on that victory, but Week 2 should be a lower-scoring affair. The Seahawks' defensive unit harassed 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy all day last weekend. They picked him off twice and realistically could have made it a third on Purdy's go-ahead touchdown pass. Many NFL fans came into this season skeptical of the Steelers' offense. Their Week 1 production was encouraging, but the Seahawks' defense looks like one of the elite units in the NFL. With a great ability to rush the passer and fantastic players in the secondary, a 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers could struggle in this game. However, the absence of safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle) and cornerback Devon Witherspoon (knee) is notable this week, making the Seahawks D/ST check in as a borderline starting option.--Quincy Milton III - RotoBaller

The New Orleans Saints defense/special teams recorded five sacks and allowed 20 points in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. While the sack total was a pleasant surprise, it shouldn't be expected consistently with a defensive front led by 34-year-old Cameron Jordan. They face Mac Jones in Week 2 instead of Brock Purdy (toe), but still have to contend with Christian McCaffrey and remain without Chase Young (calf). Ranked 28th of 32 defenses this week, the Saints are best left off fantasy rosters.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller

The Philadelphia Eagles defense/special teams unit wasn't particularly special in Week 1 against the Cowboys, allowing 20 points to their offense and forcing a fumble. While it wasn't an especially disappointing performance, they definitely left a lot to be desired for what is supposed to be one of the top defenses in the league. On Sunday, Philadelphia is faced with the Chiefs. Obviously, Kansas City's offense can never be scoffed at as long as they have Mahomes throwing the ball, but the Philly defense does match up pretty well. When these teams met in the Super Bowl in February, the Eagles' defense was suffocating, forcing three turnovers, including a pick-six, and keeping the Chiefs scoreless until the dying moments of the third quarter. It's a tough challenge, but fantasy managers should give this unit another chance or two in the starting lineup before calling it quits on the Eagles D/ST.--Ricky Maloney - RotoBaller

The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense was surprisingly vulnerable last week, surrendering 32 points and 394 yards of offense to the New York Jets. Pittsburgh may not be as strong defensively as it was expected to be this season, but it still has plenty of potential as a fantasy D/ST against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Seattle only managed 13 points in its home opener and turned the ball over twice. The Steelers' defense performed far better at home than on the road in 2024, making this matchup at Acrisure Stadium all the more appealing. It is worth noting that Pittsburgh will be without safety DeShon Elliott (knee) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring), but newcomer Jabril Peppers may get some run in their absence despite joining the team just a few days ago. With playmakers such as T.J. Watt and Jalen Ramsey leading the way, the Steelers D/ST can remain in fantasy lineups on Sunday.--Jorden Hill

The Chicago Bears' defense struggled in the second half of Week 1 despite scoring a pick-six. The unit surrendered 27 points overall but managed to salvage 5 fantasy points thanks to the interception return for a touchdown. Key absences didn't help, as the Bears were without top corners Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon, along with linebacker T.J. Edwards. Week 2 presents an even tougher challenge against the Detroit Lions, who led the NFL in scoring in 2024. While Detroit stumbled in Week 1 against a stout Green Bay defense, this matchup is still a steep uphill battle for Chicago. The Bears D/ST is an easy sit in Week 2 and should not be trusted in fantasy lineups.--Nathan Harvey

The Miami Dolphins defense was torn up by quarterback Daniel Jones in Week 1, allowing 33 points to the Colts on the road. They'll come home in Week 2 to take on the Patriots and Drake Maye in a divisional matchup. In Week 1, the Patriots only managed 13 points against the Raiders, but Maye did throw for 287 passing yards, along with an interception. The Patriots gave up four sacks in Week 1, while the Dolphins had just one sack and no takeaways in their disappointing showing in Indianapolis. The Dolphins do have some playmakers on defense, but they'll be without Storm Duck (ankle), who is a key cornerback in their defensive backfield. The Dolphins have potential but are a very difficult option to play with any confidence in Week 2, so they're only the DST No. 30 in the RotoBaller rankings for this week.--Zach Thompson

The Cleveland Browns defense will head on the road to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. The Ravens boast one of the top offenses in the league, led by Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. That being said, the Browns surprised in Week 1's one-point loss to the Cincinnati Bengals as they held them to just 17 points and only one touchdown in the contest. Cleveland will look to keep it going against Baltimore, but they are still not a recommended fantasy option heading into Week 2.--Matt Terelle

Life without All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons is already looking a little too bleak for the Dallas Cowboys defense. In Week 1, the Cowboys managed just one lonely sack and otherwise played a bend-but-don't-break style of defense -- solid for real football, but a snooze fest for fantasy managers hoping for splash plays. Until someone steps up to fill Parsons' havoc-wreaking shoes, this unit feels more like waiver-wire wallpaper than a weekly starter. It's looking like Dallas' defense will be lackluster for fantasy purposes this year, but against a New York Giants offense that couldn't get anything going in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, their D/ST could be worth a look as a streaming unit in Week 2.--Tipp Major
