The San Diego Padres are promoting catcher Luis Campusano to the major leagues. In a corresponding move, the Padres are optioning infielder/outfielder Connor Joe to Triple-A El Paso. Campusano has spent the first month of the season with Triple-A. The backstop has performed quite well, posting a strong .322/.445/.598 slash line with four doubles, one triple, and six home runs across 25 contests. Last season, Campusano struggled in the major leagues as he posted an underwhelming .227/.281/.361 slash line with eight home runs and a 41:20 K:BB across 91 contests. Under the hood, he generated a .289 xwOBA. Fantasy managers should expect Campusano to share the starting job behind the crease alongside Elias Diaz and Martin Maldonado.
