Aaron Rodgers' Contract Likely To Be Restructured If He Returns
2 years agoIf Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers decides to return to the team in 2023, the Packers will likely be looking to restructure his contract. The current dead-money salary cap charge if Rodgers were to be traded or retire is just over $40 million. However, if Rodgers plays in 2023 and then is traded or retires in 2024, his dead-money charge would rise to almost $60 million. The possibility of Rodgers retiring or being traded is very real, and the Packers could easily decide that it's time for Jordan Love to take over starting duties under center. The future Hall of Fame QB has yet to inform the team about whether he wants to continue playing, but that decision is expected to come before the start of the new league year on March 15.
