Ozzie Albies Had Offseason Shoulder Surgery
2 years agoAtlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies (shoulder) revealed that he underwent offseason surgery on his right shoulder in the middle of October, which he called "just a regular clean-up" to address some pain he had experienced for a couple of years. Albies said he had a shoulder impingement, so "they had to go through and clean it up a little bit." He's been able to do everything on the field, including live batting practice, but his overall build-up in camp has been backed up a bit. He said he expects to be ready by Opening Day on March 30. Albies suffered a fractured left foot in June and then fractured his right pinkie finger, which ended his season. He hit .247 with a .703 OPS, eight homers and 35 RBI in just 247 at-bats. The 26-year-old has fell a bit in fantasy drafts because of his injuries last year, but he could rebound in a big way in 2023 if he's fully healthy.
