Nick Vannett Undergoing MRI For Knee Injury
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints tight end Nick Vannett (knee) is undergoing an MRI exam on Tuesday after suffering a knee injury in the team's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night. Adam Trautman (ankle) had to be carted off the field in the same game, so the Saints tight end depth took a serious hit on Monday. Trautman is expected to lead the team's tight ends in targets in 2021, when healthy, making him a popular breakout candidate this year. Vannett is more of a blocking tight end, so even if Trautman misses extended time, he won't be extremely intriguing from a fantasy perspective. If both Trautman and Vannett are not ready for the beginning of the regular season, Juwan Johnson or Garrett Griffin could be the team's starting tight end.
