Nick Senzel Could Make Spring Debut Next Week
2 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (toe) could make his Cactus League debut in spring training as soon as early next week, according to manager David Bell. Senzel has undergone two surgeries for his fractured left big toe, but he's nearing game action as he prepares for the 2023 season. The 27-year-old's stock is still down in fantasy and there's still a chance he won't be ready for Opening Day later this month. Senzel played in a career-high 110 games in 2022 but disappointed by slashing .231/.296/.306 with a career-low .601 OPS, five home runs, 25 RBI, 45 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 420 plate appearances. He's still young, so fantasy managers shouldn't completely write him off, but Senzel is running out of time to impress as a former first-rounder in 2016.
