Nationals Sign Franmil Reyes To Minor-League Deal
2 years agoThe Washington Nationals signed free-agent outfielder Franmil Reyes to a minor-league deal on Thursday, according to a source. Reyes went 11-for-59 (.186) for the Kansas City Royals with two home runs, seven RBI, four walks and 24 strikeouts in 19 games before he was cut. The 27-year-old right-handed power hitter will resurface in the minors for the Nationals, but it remains to be seen if he can hit enough to make it back to the Show. There will be more opportunity in D.C., though, but Reyes needs to make more contact to turn things around. He hit 30 long balls and drove in 85 for the Cleveland Guardians in 2021, but Reyes has hit .217 with 16 homers and 54 RBI in 137 games since then.
