Mitchell Schwartz To Undergo Back Surgery
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz (back) announced on his Twitter page on Wednesday that he's undergoing back surgery after the injury kept him from playing in the team's Super Bowl run in this year's playoffs. The 31-year-old said the recovery process won't be too long this offseason, so he should be expected to be ready for training camp and the start of the 2021 regular season. He played in just six games in 2020, the first season of his career in which he didn't start all 16 games. Kansas City's offensive line was a patchwork unit in front of quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl without Schwartz and left tackle Eric Fisher, and it was a key to their downfall in the big game.
