Mike McDaniel Could Give Up Play-Calling Duties
11 months agoWhen asked if he'd consider giving up offensive play-calling duties next season, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said, "Nothing's off the table ever." The Dolphins were one of the best offenses overall during the 2023 season, although they really struggled in their final three games, including in the 26-7 loss in Kansas City to the Chiefs on Saturday night in the wild-card round to knock them out of the postseason and send them home early. During 17 regular season games, the Dolphins offense ranked second in points per game (29.2), behind only the Dallas Cowboys. They were also first in total yards per game (401.3), first in passing yards per game (265.5) and sixth in rushing yards per game (135.8). Given the whole offseason to think things over, we'd be surprised if McDaniel wasn't the offensive play-caller yet again to open the 2024 season.
