Michael Taylor Wants To Run In 2023
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Michael Taylor wants to contribute to the team being more aggressive on the base paths in 2023. From 2015 to 2019, Taylor stole 77 bases in 96 attempts while with the Washington Nationals. However, the soon-to-be 32-year-old has only swiped 18 of his 27 tries in the last three seasons, but he's mostly been restricted from running due to team philosophy. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli has been on record as saying he wants the team to be more aggressive this year with the bigger bases. In the last two years with the Kansas City Royals, Taylor has slashed .249/304/.357 with a .661 OPS, 21 home runs, 97 RBI, 107 runs and 18 stolen bases in 266 games. He remains a speed threat and is great on defense, but unless Byron Buxton misses more time with injury, playing time in Minnesota will probably be an issue.
