Matt Adams Returns Following Cardiac Testing
5 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Matt Adams has returned to Grapefruit League action after passing all of his additional cardiac testing. Adams is in the Mets lineup, batting cleanup as the designated hitter for Monday's game against the Miami Marlins. In 2019, Adams hit only .226 with a .741 OPS, 20 home runs and 56 RBI in 111 games for the Nationals. If he makes the Mets major league roster, he projects as a lefty power bat for those in NL-only leagues. Adams will, however, only be a part-time player against right-handed pitchers unless Peter Alonso and/or Dominic Smith miss time with injury at some point during the season.
