Luis Morales Expected to be Promoted
Luis Morales is expected to be promoted to the major leagues on Friday, reports Francys Romero of Beisbol FR. He is the A's third-best prospect according to MLB.com and will look to carry over his Triple-A success into the big leagues. In 89 ⅓ innings in the minors this season, he has posted a 3.73 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 107 strikeouts and 35 walks. The 22-year-old was a starter for the majority of the season before shifting to relief recently, so it's not clear what type of role he will assume in the majors. A spot in the rotation did just open up with JP Sears being dealt to the Padres, and there is currently no probable pitcher listed for Friday's game. It could just be a spot start, but it's worth monitoring in deep fantasy leagues as Morales has great swing-and-miss stuff.
