Luis Castillo Expected To Open Season On Injured List
Luis Castillo (shoulder) is expected to open the season on the injured list due to shoulder soreness that slowed his preparation in camp. He has not appeared in a Cactus League game yet, but he appears to be progressing well. "Castillo is probably ahead of Mike Minor right now," manager David Bell said. "He has not had any setbacks at all. We're having a meeting tomorrow for the guys who are injured and may start the season on the IL. We're going to put a rehab plan in place." The 29-year-old right-hander won't be ready for the start of the regular season, but fantasy managers may not have to wait too long for him to make his 2022 debut if he can get into a spring training game soon.
