Lou Trivino Takes Extra-Innings Loss In Seattle
4 years agoOakland Athletics relief pitcher Lou Trivino allowed two unearned runs to take a loss in Seattle on Monday. Trivino was summoned in the bottom of the 10th inning to protect a one-run lead after closer Jake Diekman was used earlier in the game. The automatic runner on second base scored on the first batter Trivino faced, tie game. He would take a loss thanks in part to an error on first baseman Matt Olson, which made the runs unearned despite the walk-off victory for the Mariners. Trivino has not allowed an earned run in eight-straight appearances and appears to be the backup option for saves behind Diekman. He has fantasy value in leagues that reward holds.
