Logan O'Hoppe To Start Rehab Assignment Tuesday
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels rookie catcher Logan O'Hoppe (shoulder) will start a minor-league rehab assignment with Single-A Inland Empire on Tuesday after he progressed to taking batting practice indoors on July 29. O'Hoppe is likely to need the full 20 days on his rehab assignment before he's activated from the injured list. He was diagnosed with a torn left (non-throwing) labrum in his shoulder on April 23 and had surgery two days later. The 23-year-old backstop should return for the Halos later this month or in early September for their stretch run. He figures to at least be in the mix for semi-regular playing time behind the dish when he's back after he went 15-for-53 (.283) with four home runs and 13 RBI in 16 games earlier this year.
