Liam Hendriks Suffers Setback, Seeking Second Opinion

Boston Red Sox reliever Liam Hendriks (hip) has suffered a setback in his recovery from right hip inflammation and will go for a second opinion, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. The news comes on the heels of Boston moving Hendriks from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL earlier Tuesday. Hendriks hasn't pitched in the majors since May 27, and now the 36-year-old surely won't return until at least August. Hendriks missed all of last season while recovering from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in August 2023. The three-time All-Star was able to come back from that procedure this year, but the hip injury has limited him to 13 2/3 innings of 6.59 ERA ball.--Connor Byrne
