Justin Fields To Start Saturday Against Titans
3 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that rookie quarterback Justin Fields will start on Saturday against the Tennessee Titans in the final preseason game and will play roughly two quarters. Veteran Andy Dalton, who is the expected Week 1 starter, will not suit up on Saturday. Fields has gone 23-for-39 (59 percent) for 222 yards (5.7 yards per attempt) with one touchdown and one interception through two preseason games, and he also has nine carries for 76 yards. The Bears plan to be patient with Fields, but Dalton will be on a very short leash, and most people are expecting Fields to get his shot sooner than later. The 22-year-old has plenty of upside as a dual-threat quarterback and is worth taking a shot on as a QB2/3 in superflex leagues.
