Julio Teheran Won't Start Wednesday
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Julio Teheran (hamstring) will miss his spring training start on Wednesday due to left hamstring tightness. An MRI exam came back negative, however, according to general manager Billy Eppler. Griffin Canning will get the start on the mound instead against the Dodgers. It doesn't sound like a serious injury for Teheran, so he should have plenty of time to be ready for Opening Day. The 29-year-old right-hander had a 3.81 ERA and 1.32 WHIP while striking out 162 and walking 83 in 174 2/3 innings over 33 starts in his final season with Atlanta in 2019. He gives the Halos another established rotation arm, but he's had a BB/9 over 4.00 each of the last two seasons and just doesn't give fantasy owners a ton of upside. Teheran is ranked just inside the top 100 fantasy starting pitchers at RotoBaller.
