Josiah Gray Throwing Bullpens, Not Facing Hitters Yet
Washington Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray (elbow, forearm) is continuing to throw bullpen sessions at the team's facility in Florida, but he's not ready to face live hitters yet, per Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com. The Nationals are taking a cautious approach with Gray, who's a little over a year removed from undergoing Tommy John surgery and internal-brace procedure in July 2024. Time is running out on a potential Gray return this year, as he'll still need to embark on a rehab assignment after several sessions against live hitters. In 2023, his most recent healthy season, the 27-year-old threw a career-high 159 innings and logged a 3.91 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP and 143 strikeouts against 80 walks.
