Josh Naylor 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Solid Production Set To Continue But Temper Expectations
Before 2025, Josh Naylor had a total of 25 stolen bases in 598 Major League games. Last year, Naylor had 30 steals in 147 games. After being traded to Seattle midseason, Naylor went wild on the bases, with 19 steals in 54 games. A reminder that there's more to stealing bases than speed, given Naylor's 24.4 ft/s sprint speed ranked in the third percentile. The career-high steals did cover up some of the loss of power Naylor experienced. After hitting 31 homers in 2024, Naylor hit just 20 homers in 2025. He did improve his batting average and had an impressive .295/.353/.462 slash line last year. With an expected batting average in the 84th percentile, even some regression should still see plenty of production. The fantasy production will also be aided by Naylor hitting behind some potent bats in the Mariners lineup. Naylor has averaged 100 RBI and 82.5 runs over the last two seasons. He will likely have similar numbers in 2026. We should expect regression with stolen bases and batting average. Even if Naylor hits .275 and has 12 steals, he will still be a solid first base option after some of the early round power bats have been taken.
