Jorge Soler Drills 45th Homer, Ties AL Lead
5 years agoKansas City Royals slugger Jorge Soler hit a bomb way over the center field wall in the top of the fourth inning in Oakland on Monday night to catch Mike Trout in the American League home run race. With Trout out for the season, Soler's mammoth blast may help him write another piece of Royals history, as he's likely to be the first member of the organization to ever win a home run crown. Soler's nearest active competition in the AL are Gleyber Torres and Nelson Cruz, who are both at 37 home runs. It's been a wonderful season for Soler as he's reminded everyone why he was a sought-after prospect. He's certainly bloomed now.
