Jordyn Brooks 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Set to Defend His Tackle Title
2 years agoA pre-season favorite for us last year, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks was a mixed bag in his first season as a full-time starter. On the field, Brooks was inconsistent, struggling with missed tackles and showing significant lapses in coverage. However, for fantasy purposes, Brooks was a superstar who vastly outperformed his undrafted ADP. The former Red Raider closed 2021 as the NFL leader in solo tackles while finishing second in total tackles. That's incredible production from a guy who played sparingly as a rookie and wasn't on most IDP rosters to begin the season. Fans should expect Brooks to continue to produce like an elite tackler in 2022 as he tries to fill the void left by Bobby Wagner's exit. While it may be too much to expect last year's tackle champion (184 tackles) to improve on last year, the potential is certainly there for him to do just that. The Texas Tech product is currently rated as our third-overall fantasy LB, but he has the potential to finish first if he can produce a few more big plays (i.e., sacks, interceptions, or forced fumbles).
