Although John Hunter Nemechek did win the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Michigan last year and finished third in yesterday's edition of that race, the prospects of him having a good run in today's Cup Series race seem dim. He still does not seem to have fully figured out the nuances of the Next Gen chassis and he has generally tended to have many more crashes than good runs; it doesn't help that Legacy Motor Club does not get the same support from Toyota as either Joe Gibbs Racing or 23XI Racing either. He did have a strong run in the recent Brickyard 400 and performance at Indianapolis often correlates with Michigan, but considering he was only 34th-fastest in yesterday's practice and 23rd in his last Cup Series race at Michigan four years ago, that probably won't happen this time.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
