John Hunter Nemechek Getting Faster, but Still Crashes Too Much
4 months agoJohn Hunter Nemechek earned his first top ten in the NASCAR Cup Series in only his eighth start at Darlington in 2020, but that came with the old Gen 6 car, but his other three Darlington starts have all resulted in finishes of 30th or worse as he has consistently struggled to adapt to the Next Gen car much like his predecessor Noah Gragson did. Nemechek has gained a little speed recently as three of his best four average running positions this season came in the last six races, but he continues to be one of the most crash-prone drivers this season with not enough speed to mitigate it. Nemechek has won at Darlington in a Craftsman Truck Series race, but that's irrelevant since Nemechek's issues continue to be with the Next Gen car and it doesn't seem he's resolved them. Don't expect Nemechek to do much on Sunday.
