Joey Wendle To Play In Extended Spring Games
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Joey Wendle (hamstring) is scheduled to play in extended spring training games in Florida on Wednesday and Thursday after he strained his left hamstring on March 31. He did infield drills and batting practice on Tuesday, and he could be activated from the injured list sometime this weekend if he can avoid setbacks. Brandon Lowe has mainly been manning the keystone with Wendle sidelined, so he might lose some playing time when Wendle returns. Wendle was hitless in seven at-bats before getting injured. He's mainly an AL-only commodity and is useful for his multi-position eligibility.
