The University of Kentucky has officially fired longtime head coach Mark Stoops, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. This decision comes after two consecutive losing seasons in Lexington, capped off by a 41-0 loss to Louisville in the final week of the 2025 campaign. Before the 4-8 and 5-7 seasons in 2024 and 2025, Stoops led the Wildcats to a school-record eight consecutive bowl berths, and he won 10 games in 2018 and 2021. With a 72-80 overall record in 13 seasons with the program, Stoops is the winningest coach in Kentucky history.
