Team Penske's Ryan Blaney will start fifth for this week's Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Blaney will start in the top five for the second consecutive race at Phoenix and matches his starting position from last Fall's race at the site. In 20 Cup starts at Phoenix, Blaney has one win, 14 top-10 finishes, including 10 inside the top five. Eight of the last nine Phoenix Races ended with a top-5 result for Blaney, and he is the track's most recent Cup winner. In practice, Blaney ranked eighth in overall lap averages, seventh in 10 consecutive lap averages, fifth in 15 consecutive lap averages, and second in 20 consecutive lap averages. Although he does not provide much upside from his starting position, Blaney has been one of the top overall drivers at Phoenix in the past couple of years. The No. 12 Ford driver's practice speeds also indicate that he is likely to be fast enough to compete for the win this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
