Mike Malott Scores Third-Round TKO Win
Mike Malott extended his win streak by defeating former title challenger Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Winnipeg on Saturday. Malott's takedown defense was on point in this fight as he was able to defend seven of Burns' takedown attempts. Both fighters had their moments, but the fight started to change drastically when Malott landed a big right hand that dropped Burns. Burns managed to get up but was then quickly knocked down again, and the fight was stopped by the referee. In 12:08 of action, Malott landed 56 significant strikes. With the win, Malott improved to 14-2-1 and is now 7-1 in the UFC.
