Joe Musgrove Feeling Better
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove (shoulder) threw a five-inning simulated game on Friday and said that he feels better now than he did in March. Musgrove was battling shoulder fatigue before spring training was shut down earlier this year, and his results weren't pretty. The 27-year-old right-hander showed an uptick in strikeouts towards the end of last year and will be a key rotation piece for the Bucs again in 2020. The time off and the shortened season this year could benefit Musgrove. He finished 2019 with a 4.44 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and career-high 8.3 K/9 in 31 starts (170 1/3 innings). Musgrove is on the fringe of being a top-50 fantasy starting pitcher.
