Jo Adell Turning Heads In Camp
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfield prospect Jo Adell has turned heads in summer camp so far, impressing manager Joe Maddon with an opposite-field home run off Jose Rodriguez in Thursday's intrasquad game. The No. 6 overall prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline, is part of the group training at Long Beach State. Maddon appreciates Adell's old-school mentality and hustle out of the batter's box. However, Adell has an uphill battle to make the initial 30-man roster out of summer camp, but he's surely closing in on his major league debut, which should come later this year or in 2021. "He’s ready physically, there’s no question," Maddon said. "With him, it’s all about his hitting, his bat. Is his bat ready to play in the big leagues?"Adell is an excellent guy to own in dynasty/keeper leagues, but he may not contribute in redraft leagues until 2021.
