Corey Seager Has Successful Surgery
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (abdomen) underwent a successful appendectomy on Thursday. He was diagnosed with appendicitis and required emergency surgery. The expectation is that Seager will return at some point this season. The Rangers expect Seager to miss a few weeks, but he shouldn't be done for the 2025 campaign. Josh Smith figures to be the primary shortstop until Seager is ready to return. The Rangers haven't officially placed Seager on the injured list, but that move should happen this weekend.
