Jets Restructure C.J. Uzomah's Deal
2 years agoThe New York Jets restructured tight end C.J. Uzomah's contract on Wednesday by converting $4.5 million of his salary into a bonus, which will clear $3.6 million in salary cap space in 2023. It saves the Jets some money this year, but Uzomah will now count $12.5 million against the cap in 2024. The 30-year-old could very well be a cap casualty next offseason unless he improves on his numbers from his first year in New York in 2022, when he caught just 21 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games played. He won't be much to look at yet again in fantasy in 2023 with Tyler Conklin taking away valuable playing time.
