Jeremy Pena to Face Live Pitching This Week
Jeremy Pena (ribs) could face live pitching in the next few days, reports Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. He has recently progressed to taking on-field batting practice in Florida. The 27-year-old is working his way back from a small rib fracture that has kept him out since June 27. There seems to be an expectation that he will progress quickly through his rehab, as the Astros general manager recently stated that Pena should be back early in the second half. He was having the best season of his career before the injury, batting .322 with 11 home runs and 15 stolen bases through 82 games.
