Athletics starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs is becoming a popular waiver wire pickup after back-to-back strong outings on the mound. Most recently, Springs tossed seven shutout innings, allowing one hit with seven strikeouts during Thursday's win over the New York Yankees. The southpaw is posting a 1.47 ERA with 15 strikeouts across three starts this season. That's impressive considering he faced the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, and Yankees, which are all capable of doing damage with the bats. Springs will now head into a matchup against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday. He has pitched well enough early in the season to warrant a look in 12-team formats ahead of Tuesday's matchup.--Andy Webb
