Jed Lowrie Getting Back In Action
4 years agoOakland Athletics infielder Jed Lowrie (knee) missed the first week of spring action while working his way back from left knee surgery in the offseason, but he played in his second Cactus League game on Thursday and impressed manager Bob Melvin by making solid contact. The 36-year-old is trying to make the squad on a minor-league deal this spring after coming off two injury-plagued years with the Mets. This is his third stint with the A's, with his last season in Oakland seeing him set a single-season A's record with 49 doubles in 2017. Lowrie was an All-Star in 2018, when he slashed .267/.353/.448 with 23 home runs, 37 doubles and 99 RBI. Limited to just nine games due to knee issues the last two years, Lowrie reliving old glory days with the A's isn't of much concern to fantasy managers entering the 2021 campaign.
