Jason Heyward Makes Significant Mechanical Adjustments
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Jason Heyward underwent a "significant" adjustment to his swing mechanics this winter, according to manager Dave Roberts. "I think he might have unlocked something," said first baseman Freddie Freeman, who is very happy to be reunited with his former Atlanta teammate. Heyward has been in decline now for a while and is just hoping to make the team in spring training as a non-roster invite. The 33-year-old veteran slashed just .204/.278/.277 with a career-low .556 OPS, one home run, 10 RBI and 15 runs scored in only 48 games for the Chicago Cubs in 2022. It's a spring storyline to watch as Heyward tries to become relevant again, but it will be an uphill battle for playing time on a stacked Dodgers roster.
